Have you noticed the shift in the media landscape lately?

From eye-opening documentaries to gripping dramas like Adolescence, there is a much-needed spotlight being shone on the "manosphere"- and the very real risks it poses to children and young people.

According to The Children’s Society:
⚠️ 1 in 6 6 to 15-year-old boys have a positive opinion of Andrew Tate
⚠️ 63% of young men watch masculinity influencers
⚠️ 1/3 of Gen Z men and boys think a wife should obey her husband

As professionals working with youth, we can't afford to ignore this digital subculture. But how do we effectively address it?

Our trusted safeguarding partner, Adele Gladman Consultancy, is unpacking this critical issue in her session “Tackling 'Toxic Masculinity' and Misogyny in Educational Settings”. This session is designed to equip you with the insights and practical tools needed to navigate these complex conversations and protect the young people in your care.

Let’s work together to create safer, more informed spaces for the next generation.

Education recruitment is changing. From September, Trusts will be required to procure staff through the new Government Commercial Agency framework.

The new framework is designed to benefit Trusts by offering:
✅️ Lower fees - which are capped at maximum daily supplier fee rates
✅️ Enhanced safeguarding - all suppliers have passed DfE-regulated evaluations
✅️ Greater transparency across costs and processes

At Smile Education, we are already supporting Trusts across the UK through compliant and operationally effective managed service provider solutions designed specifically for education environments.

As an approved GCA Recruitment Partner featured on both the Lot 1 and Lot 2 supplier lists, we’re offering Trust leadership teams a free consultation to discuss the upcoming changes.

Contact our team and we’ll be happy to support your Trust in navigating the new framework:

One of the biggest misconceptions around managed service provider (MSP) models is that Trusts lose their preferred agencies and trusted staff.

In reality, the strongest MSP models should strengthen relationships, not replace them.

For many Trusts, workforce continuity, trusted partnerships, and consistency for pupils remain just as important as procurement compliance and governance oversight.

The conversation is no longer simply about filling vacancies.

It’s about creating staffing models that are operationally effective, commercially sustainable, and compliant for the future.

September 2026 is likely to significantly change how many Multi-Academy Trusts (MATs) approach supply staffing procurement.

With increasing expectations around:
✔️ Value for money
✔️ Due diligence
✔️ Auditability
✔️ Supply chain oversight
✔️ Framework compliance

Many MATs are beginning to review whether their current staffing model is fit for September.

As a third consecutive Lot 1 and 2 provider on the GCA framework, we’re seeing these conversations increase significantly across the sector.

If your trust is reviewing agency staffing strategy ahead of the new academic year, we’d be happy to share what we’re seeing across the sector and how other MATs are approaching compliance, continuity and workforce planning.
