Our L4 Geographers had a brilliant day at Carding Mill Valley.
Students carried out a range of river investigations, including measuring velocity, depth, width and bedload characteristics at different sites along the river. Despite experiencing a little bit of everything from the weather, spirits remained high and the day ended in sunshine!
A fantastic opportunity to develop fieldwork skills while enjoying the spectacular scenery of the Shropshire Hills.

Our Pre-Prep children have been making a splash this week as part of our Environment Week, celebrating World Ocean Day!

From exploring the wonders of marine life to learning how we can protect our oceans, the children have shown fantastic curiosity and care for the world around them. Whether creating ocean-themed artwork, sharing stories, or discussing ways to reduce plastic, it has been wonderful to see their enthusiasm for making a difference.

We are so proud of our young environmental champions!

More from our Ocean day for Environment Week.

The children have been very enthusiastic. They did some litter picking on our 'miniature beach' (using tweezers). They rescued some of our sea creatures and they sorted recycling the morning our playground was covered in litter (not sure how that happened! - the children blamed the foxes).

Our Pre-Prep children embraced the importance of Reduce, Reuse, Recycle as part of our Environment Week.

Through a range of creative activities, the children explored how small actions can make a big difference — from reusing everyday materials in imaginative ways to learning how to sort and recycle responsibly. It was fantastic to see their enthusiasm and thoughtful discussions about caring for our planet.

Environment Week:

Yesterday we had a visit from Catherine Barr, Catherine is an author whose books are all based on true stories from the natural world and our interactions with it. The children were involved in an interactive, lively workshop that inspired them to care, to be curious and to protect our planet.
