As a well-established independent, day school, we have been delivering an outstanding education in a caring and inclusive environment, for pupils aged 2 to 18 years for over 90 years. Our school is a vibrant, diverse and close-knit community. We nurture and inspire, igniting our pupils’ interests throughout their entire school life, so they become well-rounded, confident, and enthusiastic young people. Our excellent academic outcomes reflect the outstanding teaching delivered at Highclare, with specialist teaching in Languages, Music and PE from Pre-Preparatory upwards, a broad and balanced curriculum and a wide range of options available for GCSE and A Level. Our super-curriculum extends and supports our pupils to achieve at the highest levels, allowing our pupils to build skills in debating, additional languages, extended Mathematics programmes and much more, while our co-curriculum offers a full programme of activities to bring out the talents of every child, with over 60 clubs a week before and after school and at lunchtimes.

The first fixture of the year saw L4th head to Dixie Grammar for a Netball and Football fixture.
Well done to the girls for a competitive game against Dixie Grammar with drawing 2 quarters of the game. Player of the Match was Mia. The boys also had a great first game with Abu making some excellent saves and a goal from Zayn. Player of the Match was Abu.

We were delighted to welcome acclaimed author, playwright and spoken word artist Steven Camden on 17th September for an inspiring day of creative writing workshops.

The event, organised by Mrs Whitlock, Senior School Learning Centre Manager, gave pupils the exciting opportunity to work with an experienced and highly regarded professional from the world of writing and performance.

Steven began the day with a two-hour creative writing workshop for U5 pupils, designed to support and develop their creative writing skills as they prepare for their upcoming GCSE examinations. Through a range of engaging activities and creative challenges, pupils were encouraged to experiment with ideas, explore language and develop their own individual writing voices.

Steven also delivered a workshop for the new U3 pupils, introducing them to a variety of new creative writing skills. The younger pupils were encouraged to use their imagination, explore language and develop confidence in expressing their ideas.

For pupils across both year groups, the sessions proved to be an exciting and memorable experience. The workshops were described by pupils as immersive, exciting and an amazing help in unlocking their creative minds.

With plenty of new ideas, inspiration and enthusiasm generated throughout the day, Steven Camden's visit left Highclare pupils ready to put pen to paper and see where their creativity could take them next.

Our U16 Netball team played at the ISA Netball tournament. The girls had a number of competitive games with closely fought matches against Dixie Grammar and Stafford Grammar only loosing by one or two goals and other competitive games loosing by 3. The girls finished the afternoon with a 4-0 against Bowbrook.

The girls showed great effort and determination along with lots of positives. Well done to captains Amelia and Scarlett who showed excellent leadership along with players of the tournament Scarlett and Ellen.

Yesterday we welcomed Elevate education in, doing their 'Study Sensei' workshop with L5 at the start of their GCSE programme. Elevate are an internationally renowned company, leading on educational research, and they present workshops to students across the world. This session in particular focused on how best to approach revision and independent study.
