OpportUNIty Student Jobs on Campus is Birmingham City University's student employment service.
OpportUNIty: Student Jobs on Campus ensures that our students are given a first opportunity to fill many part-time temporary positions within the University. This allows you to work while you study with us, fitting the job around your course commitments
Being employed by the University will help you gain valuable experiences and employability skills, enhancing your prospects in the job market. It
will also allow you to become more involved in University life by delivering, leading and supporting many aspects of the learning experience, from administration to research and mentoring roles. You can sign up to the scheme and start applying for jobs as soon as you join us, through a realistic application and interview process. You will be invited to tell us about skills you already have and we will use that information to match you to jobs when they become available. You will also continue to receive feedback while you are in a role, confirming that you are developing employability skills in 22 key areas identified by the University in consultation with organisations including the Confederation of British Industry and the National Union of Students. These could range from help with your interview technique or CV writing to support in developing skills related to your specific role. Since launching in September 2012, we placed students in over 3,000 assignments, including administration assistants, laboratory assistants, marketing assistants, student ambassadors, student academic mentors, copywriter, magazine editor, technical assistant, web developer, video and post-production assistant, database assistant, disability assistant, receptionist and assistant PA.
