Along with developing our students, work experience also benefits external clients. Our LEAP Sport group has been working with Bristnall Hall Academy to teach them inclusive sports and develop their coaching skills.

Connections like these support everyone involved; we are always looking for work placement and volunteering opportunities for our students to provide meaningful encounters with employers and the world of work, supporting their future next steps.

Introducing Steven, Assistant Principal for Teaching and Learning at QAC. His role is to create a learning environment that is ambitious, supportive, prepares students for greater independence and enables them to achieve their full potential.

Steven works with tutors, managers, and leads to ensure that teaching is of the quality students deserve and that learning and assessment across the college guides and prepares them for their next steps.

Steven commented on his role at QAC "My favourite thing about my role is that I have the opportunity to work with both staff and students at the same time, supporting tutors and managers in teaching and learning while helping our amazing students gain the skills, confidence and independence they need to thrive."

Our students have been using the skills they have developed throughout the year to help make our end-of-year Student Leavers Discos happen!

This year, our Student Council wanted to add a little extra and helped plan a range of stalls and activities to make the discos even more special.

From being MCs and welcoming guests, to running the Hydration Station, Treasure Box Tuck Shop, Thrift Shop, festival face painting and helping create our brilliant selfie corner, students have been putting their communication, teamwork, customer service, confidence and organisational skills into action.

And what a great way for students to come together, celebrate the end of the year and have a good dance!

A huge well done to all the students involved and the staff supporting them to shine.
