World Music Day is a global celebration of music and its power to bring people together.

On Monday, to celebrate, QA College students listened to various genres of music from around the world, and even put together a Stomp Choir where they created music and rhythms by slapping and clapping parts of their bodies.

Dear Parents and Carers,

With much warmer weather forecast this week, please help us keep young people safe and comfortable by sending them to college prepared:

• Make sure your young people have applied sun cream before college and include a named bottle for reapplication
• Pack a labelled sun hat
• Bring a large water bottle
• Make sure students dress in light, loose clothing where possible

Thank you for your continued support.

Student spotlight!

Vocational IT student, Ali is currently in his second year at QAC.

Ali is the youngest person with Parkinson's in the whole world, but has not let his disability stop him. Since joining QAC, Ali has achieved his level 2 extended certificate and diploma in IT whilst also gaining 5 distinction grades and completing Work Experience in both the marketing team and with an Assistant Principal, creating posters to be used internally.

He aspires to move on to university and gain a degree in IT and a master's degree in IT after his time at QAC. Ali said, "To get a degree will be my great achievement"

Outside of QAC, he has also developed skills in chess, learning the shortest checkmate in just two moves!

Well done, Ali!

Showcasing our PFL Step up Sage students, who have created QAC 2026 cups, matching coasters, and designed their own chocolate wrappers for the Summer Fayre.

Students worked on their own designs and printed their products using a special printer and cup press machine. They worked together and developed important skills such as teamwork, communication, creativity, following instructions, and using specialist equipment.

We are proud of their hard work and look forward to selling their products at the Summer Fayre next week.

Today, we are highlighting LEAP Retail and Business student Jai, who attends SEN non-contact boxing sessions and recently took part in a fantastic boxing showcase event, where participants competed in bouts against former professional boxers.

Jai was fortunate to step into the ring with local champion Ryan Griffiths, showing amazing confidence, determination and resilience throughout the experience. Jai’s commitment to developing his confidence and skills through sport is truly inspiring.

We are incredibly proud of Jai and his achievements outside of college through his extracurricular activities.
