Onam is a festival celebrated in Kerala 🌿 A demon king named Mahabali ruled over 3 worlds and was loved by his people. The Gods did not like this so asked Lord Vishnu to visit King Mahabali to end his rule. Appearing as the avatar Vamana, he measured the world with 2 steps and asked Mahabali for land to place his 3rd step. Vamana was impressed when King Mahabali offered his head for the 3rd step. Hence Lord Vishnu blessed Mahabali with the ability to visit his kingdom once a year. Therefore, this time of Onam celebrates the homecoming of the beloved king 🌾
