Turn The Page Homework Club is an extracurricular activity that helps students with coursework. The depth of learning is the oyster of success - and the ocean of knowledge. This project was started as a consequence of families in the Highgate community benefiting from the ‘New Generation Programme’ adopting English as an additional language (EAL). Without a doubt, there’s an influx of families who struggle financially, which creates hardship. This has an impact on adolescents who don’t have the resources to access curriculum via the Internet and other sources. Turn The Page Homework project aims to deliver an understanding of positive awareness, reflecting how young people develop whilst interacting with peers and adults. Highlighting this awareness enhances confidence and social wellbeing. Success is determined by a pupil’s motivation, and their performance depends on their ability. Setting manageable, concise, clear instructions of tasks supports learning and improves academic performance. Turn The Page Alternative Education Centre delivers basic academic support through English Language/Literacy and Maths, with additional support in other areas, depending on the pupil’s needs and ability. We help pupils develop their learning and understanding skills in a less intimidating environment. It encourages motivation through communication and supports them on a one-to-one level.
