🚑 Major First Aid Updates!
In October, the UK Resuscitation Council released important updates to their First Aid and resuscitation guidelines. As of 2nd February, all updated regulated qualifications are now live, meaning this is the new standard for First Aid training.
Some of the most significant changes include:
• Paediatric First Aid updates, including revised infant and child CPR techniques
• Updated guidance on the use of AEDs with children and infants
• Changes to AED pad placement during adult resuscitation
These are not small tweaks, they directly affect how we respond in life-threatening emergencies. Even if your certificate is still in date, your skills and knowledge may no longer reflect current best practice.
There has never been a better time to update your First Aid training. 👏
We've already trained Chinese Community Centre Birmingham with the support of Ladywood Neighbourhood Network Scheme and community groups in Yardley supported, by Yardley Neighbourhood Network Scheme
If your organisation supports children, families, or vulnerable people, now is the time to act. Keeping training current saves lives. 💙

This week I had the pleasure of delivering Level 2 Food Safety on behalf of Yardley Neighbourhood Network Scheme.
It was great to see so many community organisations giving up their precious time to spend a full day with yours truly!
Food Safety legislation applies to anyone who prepares, serves, sells, stores or handles food. This basically means, even if you're a church group running a coffee morning, or a stay and play group serving fruit to toddlers, you still need to have an awareness of food safety!
We offer a full range of Food Safety courses designed to meet the needs of voluntary and community organisations.
If your team needs training for 2026, get in touch!

💚 Mental Health Awareness in Hall Green
Last week I had the pleasure of delivering a Mental Health Awareness session for Hall Green Neighbourhood Network Scheme NNS. Such a brilliant group of people who weren’t afraid to get involved, share experiences and really think about how they can support mental health in their communities.
I’m really proud to have been part of their Capacity Building programme this year and excited to see how this learning continues to make a difference across Hall Green. 🌿💚.

🍽️ Level 2 Food Safety for Catering – Supporting Our Community 🍽️
Last week we delivered L2 Food Safety for Catering on behalf of NDSU and NNS. We had a brilliant mix of voluntary organisations taking part, all needing their certificates to continue providing vital services in the community.
Many voluntary groups, including food banks, community cafés, and support organisations, serve food to vulnerable people such as older adults, young children, pregnant women, and those with weakened immune systems. These groups are at much higher risk of serious illness from food poisoning, which is why good food hygiene isn’t just important… it’s essential.
Food safety knowledge is a legal requirement whether you’re preparing, serving, selling, or simply handling food. Having the right training helps protect the people you support and ensures your organisation meets its responsibilities.
