Im now on maternity leave 🥹💙
I can't believe how quickly this time has come around. It has been an emotional week saying goodbye to all my little ones and their families as I embark on this next chapter. I have been utterly spoilt by all of my amazing families and I can't thank you all enough for making me feel so loved ❤️
Under the sea theme has commenced! 🌊🐚🦈🐬🦑 we had lots of amazing conversations as we explored all things under the sea last week, so we have extended the provision this week. To support children's next steps, we have added some numbers too 🌊🐚

We have been busy making lots of lovely things for our special mommys for Mother's Day 🌷

Last week the children have been very busy planting lots of seeds!
We have planted artichoke, okra, sugar snap peas, beetroot, pumpkin, zucchini, cucumber, sprouts, carrots and onion seeds!

We have been learning all about the life cycle of a plant and what plants need to grow. The children have been observing their seeds and making sure they have plenty of warmth, sunlight and water.
Next week the children will be transferring their plants into bigger pots once they have germinated ready for the greenhouse!

At 20 months old this little one accesses his own resources within our outdoor kitchen and is seen moving pinecones from one container to another making attempts to count them too! 🌿🍂🏡

Our Caterpillar to Butterfly Journey 🐛🦋
Planting and Growing Seeds 👩🌾👨🌾
Last week the children had lots of fun planting seeds and learning about the process of growing.
We explored a sensory tray where the children practicing their fine motor skills using the small scoops to scoop up rice into pots. We had a close look at some plant models which show what happens at the different stages of a growing plant.
We also spoke about what plants need to grow.
We then moved onto planting our own seeds. The children filled up small pots with soil and planted their seeds into the soil!
We added a small amount of water to each of the pots and then labelled them!
We will be watching them closely over the next few weeks and hope to then transfer them into our vegetable patch when they are ready!
