Today I presented to new trainee teachers about to go on their first placement. I had been asked to talk about the importance of pastoral support in school and what we need to do as practitioners to support our most vulnerable learners. There was lots of (virtual!) good feedback and I left them with this slide about things to look for when they go to their first school… what did I miss? What else should trainees look for in their first placement in relation to send/ pastoral?
