We've done a spot of gardening and some planting today. The children really enjoyed this. They then got to take their little flower pots home, giving them to their parents very proudly!

We've been having lots of fun in the sun. The sun makes such a difference on the mood and atmosphere, which is why outdoor play is so Important, not for just physical development but also mental wellbeing, we need as much natural light as possible to produce vitamin D, which helps us keep our bones, teeth and muscles healthy as well as give us the ability to fight infections.

The sun is out, and the children are loving spending time in the garden.
The children loved not wearing their coats and scarves, allowing freedom and movement.

Eid preparation were in full swing today. There's been such a wonderful vibe today. The children have talking about all their new clothes and all the shopping they've done. We discussed going to the mosque for Eid prayers too.
Eid Mubarak to the community of Balsall Heath, whether you celebrate or not, we have you all have a blessed day.

Here's some more amazing activities the children have taken part in. Keeping the activities linked to the story of the week, just concretes that learning, children easily refer back to the story expanding their memory and re-telling the story in their own words or even change or add to it, giving alternative characters or endings.

We have a few more pictures of last week's activities and Jack and the Beanstalk.
The staff all work really hard to create fun learning opportunities, ensuring the children gain as much as they can.
As it was mother's day on Sunday, the children also made some beautiful cards💓

For Mother's Day, the children explored a sensory activity using rice, fresh flowers and paint. They investigated different textures, colours and smells, using their senses to touch, mix and observe the materials. The children showed curiosity as they squeezed petals, moved rice through their fingers and experimented with paint to create marks and patterns.

It's Jack and the Beanstalk week. The children have spent this morning measuring and estimating and using words such as taller, taller, tallest, measure. The use of open ended question encourages to think of new ideas and upon what they already know.
