π¦ Our Wise Owls have had a wonderfully busy day filled with exploration and creativity!
They enjoyed woodworking with screws and tools, building their own structures from wooden pieces and developing their problem-solving skills.
The fun continued with a shape hunt in a colourful water tray before they immersed themselves in imaginative small world play, creating a bustling town scene complete with train tracks, animals and different textured materials to represent the sea, land and mud π

β¨Learning, Playing and Exploring in Squirrels
Our Squirrels have had a busy and exciting time exploring both oral health and emotional wellbeing through The Colour Monster. The children have been learning to recognise and talk about different feelings while developing their understanding of how to care for themselves.
For those who love vehicles, the team extended their play with an exciting road and hill setup using tracks and loose parts. The children enjoyed building their own roads, stacking materials and knocking them down with cars, supporting creativity, coordination and problem-solving. πποΈ
They also enjoyed making vegetable biscuits, chopping, slicing, mashing and stirring ingredients together to create something delicious. This hands-on cooking experience supported their fine motor skills and understanding of healthy eating.
What a wonderful mix of learning, imagination and exploration! π

πΌOur Squirrels have been busy exploring, investigating, and learning through play this week!
The children enjoyed using loose parts, stacking and combining different objects as they discovered new ways to build and create. Their imaginations flourished as they transformed the loose parts into roads, driving cars along them and finding exciting new ways to use the resources.
Water play was another favourite activity, where the children explored sensory scarves. They carefully observed how the scarves changed appearance when wet and enjoyed feeling the different textures as they moved through the water. Using recycled materials alongside familiar animal figures provided even more opportunities for sensory exploration and discovery.
The sensory scarves were also used in a fine motor activity as the children threaded them through bricks before carefully pulling them back out. This supported the development of their pincer grip, hand-eye coordination, and early problem-solving skills.
We also noticed a growing interest in role play, so we extended this learning with play dough. The children stretched, pinched, rolled, and pulled apart the dough, strengthening the muscles in their hands while engaging in imaginative play. They enjoyed serving their creations on plates and in bowls, pretending to cook and eat meals alongside their friends.
It has been wonderful to see the children exploring with such curiosity, creativity, and confidence π

βοΈ Keeping Cool with Wise Owls βοΈ
Our Wise Owls have been finding fun ways to stay cool in the warm weather with exciting ice play and delicious watermelon pizzas! π
The children loved making their own healthy treats by adding a yoghurt base and choosing different fruits for their toppings. It was a fantastic way to encourage independence, creativity and healthy eating while having lots of fun.
The children have also been enjoying loose parts play, using their imaginations to design and build their very own houses. π
It has been lovely to see so much creativity, teamwork and hands-on learning taking place in the room. π
