Wow what a day - Around the World on Diversity Day. ๐
To be clear, we donโt just have a day to celebrate diversity as itโs woven into our whole curriculum through choice of texts, resources etc and our whole approach to life at school
Today classes took their passports and visited a range of countries / continents through school.
Children visited Mexico where artistic taco making was a success. ๐ฒ๐ฝ
Their trip to the Middle East saw great problem solving as they deciphered their name in Arabic and created dessert scenes using spices.
In Africa children explored Jolof rice and responded to African music playing traditional African instruments.
In North America children made flags and explored a range of music genres including blues and jazz. ๐บ๐ธ ๐จ๐ฆ
In Antarctica children felt the freezing temperature of resources (very welcome today).
Europe was a whirlwind whistle stop to Spain, Holland and Italy. Recreating the leaning tower of Pisa was a firm favourite. ๐ฎ๐น ๐ณ๐ฑ ๐ช๐ธ
Asia saw children visiting both China and Japan working together to create a beautiful blossom tree. ๐ฏ๐ต
Australia ๐ฆ๐บ saw children explore Bondi beach and make their own boomerang.
A truly wonderful day living our value of and learning about other countries and cultures.
