โจ Letโs Make Potions! โจ
A little imagination, a splash of creativity and plenty of stirring, scooping and mixing! ๐งช
The children at Merryvale have been busy creating their own colourful potions, exploring what happens when different materials come together while enjoying plenty of imaginative play along the way.
Itโs wonderful to see where their curiosity takes them! ๐

๐ฑ Look what we have grown!
With help from Alex, our Gardening Lead, the children have been busy nurturing their plants and watching them grow. From Sunshine Squash and Cherry Tomatoes to Baby Cucumbers, Marrow, Runner Beans, Peppers and Chillies, there is plenty to celebrate!
It's wonderful to see the children enjoying the rewards of caring for something from seed to harvest and learning where our food comes from along the way. ๐

๐ Nursery and school both play important roles in a child's development, but the early years are a unique time for exploration, discovery and learning through play.
A nursery environment allows children to develop at their own pace while building the confidence and independence that will support them throughout their education.

๐ซ Our very first green bean harvest!
Our children loved searching through the leaves to pick our first crop of fresh green beans, developing their fine motor skills as they carefully hunted for each one.
Learning where food comes from is such a valuable experience, and being able to pick, prepare, cook and enjoy produce they've helped to grow makes it even more meaningful. The children were so excited to taste the beans with their lunch after all their hard work!
Green beans are packed with fibre and essential vitamins including A, C, K and folate, helping to support healthy growth, strong bones, digestion and the immune system.
Moments like these show that at Merryvale, it's about so much more than just childcare. ๐ซ

๐ฟ A little rosemary, a handful of mint and a sprinkle of flower petals... the perfect recipe for imaginative learning!
Our Badgers and Owls had a wonderful time in Forest School creating their own nature-inspired potions, magical spells and fragrant perfumes using rosemary, mint and colourful petals. As they mixed, poured and explored, they were developing communication skills, hand-eye coordination, colour recognition and creativity through open-ended play.
It's amazing how the simplest natural resources can inspire the biggest imaginations. ๐ธ

๐จ School readiness is not about how well a child can read or write.
It is about confidence, communication, independence and emotional wellbeing. Nursery provides children with the time and support to develop these essential skills before they take their next step into school.

๐ Parent Review ๐
"Merryvale is a truly fantastic nursery with the most caring staff and nurturing environment. Both of my boys attended here, with the youngest just leaving this year - I can say hand on heart they felt safe and loved by the team and will miss them dearly. The progress reports generated by the nursery are in depth and show that the setting knows the children extremely well - tailoring to their needs specifically. My son who is about to start primary school in September is well equipped for the transition and was supported very well by Merryvale. A wonderful place for a little one to thrive."
Reading feedback like this means so much to our team. Thank you for trusting us to be part of your family's journey and allowing us to watch your boys grow in confidence, independence, and happiness. We wish your youngest every success as he begins his exciting next chapter at primary school. ๐
