I work in Adult and Specialist Rehabilitation Division, and my role is to help people (basically elderly population) with disabilities or chronic illnesses to attain maximum level of function.
Role as a rehab nurse is both physically and emotionally challenging as most of the elder people comes with dementia, parkinson's or Alzheimer's. One time they'll laugh and play with you, the other time they'll doubt you. Providing care and support to them is same like caring for an infant and doing that gives me a great pride.😊
