Introducing a new day time drawing course: Introduction to Botanical Art. Join a small group to create artwork inspired by nature.

Discover pencil drawing and colour pencil ‘painting’ techniques within the context of all things botanical. This course will cover the basics of composition, line and form and perspective. You'll use pencil, pastel and specialist colouring pencils to capture flowers, leaves, bark, seeds, roots, twigs, or other plants.

Weather permitting, this class will take place outside, drawing inspiration from elements within the landscaped gardens surrounding the ARC studios, in Wythall - just south of Birmingham.

All abilities welcome. Running for 6 weeks on Tuesday mornings 10.30-12.30 from 25th June 2024. All materials (and delicious home-made snacks) are included.

We have limited places left on our Line and Wash Workshop which runs on the 24th February 2024.

Line and wash a drawing and painting process in which defined lines are used in unison with washes of colour. You will be shown different ways to apply pen and Indian ink, learn how to stretch hot or cold pressed paper and discover the ancient craft of using a dip stick.

This one day workshop runs from 10.30am - 4pm and includes and two course lunch and refreshments throughout the day.
