Early Learners Nursery

We have been very lucky to be able to create a larger digging and planting area in the garden. Thank you so much to the parents and carers for their donations of spare seeds and plants. The children have been very busy planting seeds and making their own compostable pots. We are very excited to see how our purple carrots grow.

This week the children have been really excited to find more insects in the garden. They have been telling us how to look after them and demonstrating all their learning.

All set for Earth Day. Taking care of our planet 🌎🌍🌏

This week we have been learning all about mini beasts. We have been exploring the garden where we have found different creatures both real and small world resources. Our mini explorers have developed a deep curiosity for living things and how to take care of the natural world.

A selection of some of our recent activities and celebrations. These include Lunar New Year, Shrove Tuesday,Holi ,St. Patrick’s Day and World Book Day. We have celebrated, explored, investigated, cooked and created with a variety of media and materials.

This week our children have been taking part in different activities to encourage their language and development. We have been learning new skills and practicing the ones we have already established by investigating and exploring. We have talked about feelings, how to manage them and created some beautiful art and crafts for those we love.

Happy Valentine’s Day.

And so we’ve come to the end of another year at Early Learners, and what fun we’ve had over the last year! From our settling in home corner in September to Diwali celebrations to Christmas and Chinese New Year. We have celebrated Valentine’s Day, Pancake Day and Eid. We have purchased some lovely sensory resources. We have covered all areas of the EYFS in a fun and engaging play environment. We have created a fairyland both indoors and outdoors, even our dinosaur play made an appearance in our sensory garden. Throughout the year we have thread our Startwell message linking it to all our activities. This is only a small sample of the fun we have had. We would love to share our happy memories of 23-24 with you.

We have had a wonderful time exploring in the outdoors. The children have been mark making in the snow, building tiny snowmen,following tracks and making trails. We have experimented with water and ice adding our treasure and waiting to see our creations.

We have been on the farm this week, role playing with small world and dress up. We have looked at harvest time and how our food is grown, peeled and chopped a selection of vegetables using our child safe knives and made a healthy soup.
