Black history month!

This month Russell nursery school children have been learning about ‘Black history month’, The members of staff will discuss why we celebrate Black history month, what Black history month means and why it is important to love one another despite our differences!

The children have been taking part in a range of fun activities to learn all about Black history month!

The children in Pre-school coloured and painted themselves by looking into the mirror and printing what they see on to the paper, they then compared their portrait and spoke about our similarities and differences with their friends and member of staff.
A range of activities will continue throughout October 🧡

Tiktok 🎥

Would like to let you all know that we are now on Tiktok. On tiktok we will be posting activities ideas which we do at the nursery. Head over to our tiktok page and give us a like and follow. 👍

Babies Autumn Activity! 🍂🍁

The babies are taking part in a leaf printing activity. The babies are using the hold hand grasp to hold the leaf and dip into the paint they then press the leaf on to the paper to create a leaf print. The children had fun taking part in this activity.

Trip to the shops!! 🛍 🛒

The children at Russell Nursery School recently went to pound stretchers to buy some garden toys to play with. The children enjoyed giving the toys to the shopkeeper and paying for the items.

The children were excited to go to the shops with their friends. When the children came back they sat in a circle and spoke about the toys they had bought.
This helped the childrens mathematic and social skill.

Russell’s Trip to the library! 📚

Last week the children went to visit the local library. We are very fortunate to be located in Hall Green where there are lots of activities outside of the nursery for the children to experience. This also allows the staff to fulfil the enabling environment to an extremely high potential. 📕

The children enjoyed the walk to the library. Observing and talking about everything they could see in the local community. When we arrived to the library the children were excited and ready to read the books. The children all took a book each and began reading the stories and looking carefully at the images in the books. 📖

Summer Party 2022!

To thank all the staff for their hard work Russell Nursery celebrated the end of year with a party.

Some of the staff at Russell Nursery School have been working at Russells for many years and once a year we have a summer party for the staff, which has music, dancing, laughter and an award ceremony.

Russell Nursery School Graduation Ceremony and Party 2022!

At russell nursery school we held a graduation ceremony in the morning and later on in the day had a graduation party for our preschool children. The children dressed up in their party clothes and the room was filled with plenty of dancing and laughter.

We wish all the preschool children the best of luck in their new school and their futures!

A huge thank you to all the parents/carers for choosing Russell Nursery School. It has been an absolute pleasure looking after all of the children throughout the years! ❤️

Common Wealth Games 2022

The children at Russell nursery were able to experience their own common wealth games.
The children had been giving different types of games to participate in such as a bike race,racing and completing an obstacle course.🏃‍♀️ 🏃‍♂️
The children really enjoyed taking part in these activities and learning about the Common Wealth Games.

Police Visit 👮‍♀️ 👮‍♂️

We had some special visitors visit Russell nursery!

Thank you so much to the West Midlands police for coming down to our nursery and talking to our children about road safety and stranger danger.

The children really enjoyed sitting in the police car putting the siren on and seeing the police equipment.🚨 🚔

Father’s Day!

For Father’s Day, all the children from each unit have created Father’s Day cards. The children in preschool celebrated this special day by personalising their card by putting a picture of someone special to them on the card and decorating it.

We celebrated the Queen's Jubilee at Russell Nursery!

We celebrated this special day by having a Jubilee themed tea party for all the children. We dressed up in our special Jubilee clothes, had traditional afternoon tea with our friends and engaged in several fun activities throughout the week.
