F Campbell spent two hours researching ice cream flavours and creating a fabulous menu in French. We have learning how to read menus and order pancakes, waffles and ice creams in French this week. F Campbell has been awarded French Star of the Week for his efforts in class and for his wonderful homework. Bravo!

We celebrated our writing competition winners at lunch time today with additional book vending machine awards. Our KS3 writing competition invited pupils to write a creative piece that could include multiple forms of writing including poems, extract and short stories. We have some great budding writers!

Our Year 8 basketball team recently took part in Year 8 3×3 Basketball City Final competition. The whole day event saw schools form across Birmingham come together to participate in a fun filled basketball tournament. Year 7 and Year 8 are celebrating an amazing success in the UK Maths Trusts’ Junior Maths Challenge. Two weeks ago students completed an hour long set of maths challenges in exam conditions and have now received the awards. Our students did fantastically, achieving 2 Gold certificates, 4 Silver certificates and 12 Bronze certificates!

Year 7 and year 8 took part in the UK Maths Trusts’ Junior Maths Challenge. In exam conditions, with just a pencil and scrap paper students had an hour to complete 25 challenging questions. The results will be back in a couple of weeks and students will receive their certificate for participating and any Bronze, Silver or Gold awards students managed to achieve
