Stories have been shared throughout history and across cultures — to inspire, to teach important lessons, and to bring people together.

National Storytelling Week, led by the Society for Storytelling, celebrates this powerful tradition and encourages a new generation of storytellers to discover the magic of stories.

At The Bridge School, children are immersed in stories every day, but this week we’ve placed an extra focus on 1:1 reading sessions and additional story times throughout the day, giving children more opportunities to enjoy, explore and connect with stories in ways that suit them best.

Finding time to read together can sometimes be challenging, but moments like these remind us just how important storytelling is — whether children are confident readers or still finding their way. This week has been a wonderful celebration of imagination, connection and the joy of a great story. 💫📚

This week, pupils at The Bridge School have been getting involved in The Big Garden Birdwatch by making their own bird feeders to welcome wildlife into our school garden. A lovely hands-on activity supporting learning, creativity and care for nature 💚

💙 A huge thank you to the Goldieslie Masonic Lodge 💙
We were delighted to receive a £1,000 donation on 15th December, which will go towards our £5,000 target to refurbish our sensory rooms in 2026.

The cheque was presented by Alex Yip and gratefully received by Headteacher Andy Seager and Local Academy Member Daphne Hall.

A huge thank you to Anne Brown, who donated £111 after creating and selling her own Christmas cards and decorations, with all profits going to The Bridge School. Our pupils were over the moon!

At The Bridge School, we have been marking Remembrance Day by reflecting on those who have served and sacrificed, and thinking about the importance of peace and hope for the future.
Pupils have created beautiful Remembrance artwork to share their thoughts and respect for this important day

Together, we can spread hope, raise awareness, and remind everyone that they are not alone 💛


Right now, the world can be a tough place for children and young people to grow up in – and they are feeling the pressure. We want young people to know that they don’t have to go through this alone.
Things can get better.
