Our learners gave an amazing performance of Hansel & Gretel at Birmingham Rep, singing alongside professional opera singers from the Armonico Consort and musicians from the CBSO! A huge thank you to The Transformation Partnership charity for making this incredible opportunity possible.

We were also honoured to have Deputy Lieutenant Tim Hodgetts and Birmingham’s Lord Mayor, Councillor Ken Wood, in attendance.

Mrs. Pilkington surprised her learners with fresh strawberries as a sweet and healthy treat for Valentine’s Day. A little act of kindness (and a boost of vitamin C) goes a long way in making the day extra special! Thanks to Tesco Stronger Starts for the strawberries.

Today we celebrated over 60 of our school colleagues for long service within the Summit family. Mr Bailey & Mrs Innes received a special recognition for 25 years service.

Congratulations to all the winners at the Pearson National Teaching Awards which were held last night in London. Special congratulations to Mr Bridges & Miss Hagan who won Silver awards in their categories.

Year 6 have had a fascinating morning conducting heart dissections (on lamb hearts) as part of their Circulatory System topic in Science. A massive thank you to Cockshut Hill School for providing the hearts, the equipment and the expertise!

It was a privilege to be present at Cockshut Hill School last week when head teacher Mr Jason Bridges received a Silver Award in the Pearson Headteacher of the Year in a Secondary School Awards. This is for his outstanding commitment to changing the lives of the children he works with every day. Mr Bridges has now been shortlisted to win one of Pearson’s Gold Awards. Natalie Hagan also received a silver award in the Digital Innovator category.
This is good news for our local community. Congratulations to the whole school. for St Thomas' Church.
