🎓 At one Cheltenham primary school, SEN pupils aren't grouped by the year they were born, they're grouped by their stage of need.

Pupils stay on the pathway that best matches their needs, but Caroline Parker, the school's Headteacher, designed it so they still join their chronological-age peers for the subjects, trips and social time they can access. Getting bespoke support exactly where they need it, without losing their sense of belonging.

The mantra behind it all? Stage, not age.

The impact has been huge. Attendance is up from 30% to 80% for some pupils, and children making up to two years of progress in just six months.
