A little thank you from our children.

Today, our children wanted to take a moment to say thank you to the teachers who make such a difference every day.

⭐️For knowing each child as an individual.
⭐️For recognising their strengths.
⭐️For listening, encouraging and supporting them.
⭐️For challenging them to be the very best they can be.

It is the care, time and belief our teachers give our children every day that makes our school what it is.

We were delighted to receive a special message from children’s author Ben Davis, author of the brilliant Postman Planet series!

Ben’s message to our children was simple but powerful:

And that is exactly what we believe at Kingswood School, every child has something that makes them special. Our teachers take the time to know our children, recognise their individual strengths and help them believe in what they can achieve.

What a lovely celebration assembly this morning! 🌟

There were huge smiles all around as we celebrated this week’s wonderful achievements. Every award was so well deserved, and it was fantastic to see our pupils recognised for their hard work, effort and progress. 👏

WHERE ARE THEY NOW?

From a Kingswood pupil in 2016 to where he is today! 🌍

We love catching up with our former pupils and hearing about the paths they have taken since leaving Kingswood.

✨ What is he doing now?

Thomas ‘I just finished my undergraduate degree in politics and international relations with a First ⭐ where I got to intern in The Senedd as part of my dissertation doing research on the short coming of ALN/SEND support in Wales.’

💭 Favourite Kingswood memory?

Thomas ‘And I have spent the summer being a water ski instructor at an overnight summer camp for children 6 to 18 years old including children with Learning Disabilities, ADHD and ASD.’

❤️ What did Kingswood mean to you?

Thomas ‘Looking back, my PGL residential was one of the most amazing experiences and one of my favourite memories of my time at Kingswood. Before that trip, I had never thought of myself as an outdoors person, but it was there that I truly discovered a love for outdoor education — an experience that inspired me to pursue it in later years. These kinds of opportunities are so important, especially for children who don’t always excel in the classroom. When you are given the chance to shine in a different environment, to climb higher, to work as a team and to overcome something you thought you couldn’t do, it gives you a real confidence. It makes you believe that you can achieve anything you set your mind to.
I’m so happy I got the chance to have these experiences at Kingswood School, as the staff there were really supportive in and out the classroom.’

It’s wonderful to see where our pupils go after they leave us and even more special when they take a moment to look back on their Kingswood days.

Today we were delighted to welcome Reverend Richard Haynes, who led a wonderful school assembly all about Harvest and why it is so important.

Our Harvest table is already filling up nicely with generous donations, so a huge thank you to all our parents and staff for your kindness and support. ❤️

The children and staff were also put to the test, answering questions about our school values and even joining in with some singing! 🎶

We are so lucky to be part of such a wonderful and supportive community. Thank you for helping us celebrate Harvest and for showing such generosity. 🌾🍎🥫

You may have spotted Dr Amir sharing his expert advice on ITV’s This Morning, Lorraine or Good Morning Britain, but his journey is about so much more than television. He is an NHS GP, author, teacher and passionate advocate for helping others. Alongside his television career, he has continued to care for patients and inspire the next generation of doctors. Dr Amir is a fantastic role model for our children because he shows that success comes from hard work, kindness and caring about others. His journey reminds us that you can follow your dreams while using your talents to make a positive difference in the lives of others. ✨
