⚖️✨ Rule of Law Day in Year 2 ✨⚖️
As part of our Rule of Law Day, our Year 2 children explored why we have rules and the important role they play in keeping our school and wider communities safe, fair and respectful. 💛
We discussed our class rules and considered the impact of not following them. We also explored how rules apply to both our words and actions, whether online or offline. 💻🗣️
The children learnt that there are rules outside of school too, which we call laws. We explored examples such as laws that protect people and property, including not stealing or damaging things that belong to others.

On Monday 28th September, we celebrated Rule of Law Day in school! 📚💛
Our Reception children explored the importance of right and wrong, rules and the consequences of our actions. We talked about how rules help us to keep one another safe, happy and cared for — from using kind hands and kind feet to thinking about how our choices can affect others. 🤝
With a faith-filled focus, we reflected on how God calls us to love one another, show kindness and treat others as we would like to be treated. ❤️ We discussed how following good rules helps us to live peacefully together and show love and respect to everyone around us.

🌹 Rose of Hope 🌹

Today, as we celebrated the Feast of the Archangels, we came together in prayer and reflection, sharing a special time of faith, hope and togetherness.

Led by the leaders of our Mission Teams, our children planted seeds of hope around our Rose of Hope, gifted to us by our Trust, creating our very own Hope Garden. 🌱

We were also lucky enough to be joined by two of our Regional Governors, who shared this special moment with us.

🖐️ One of our newly formed Mission Teams - The Mini Vinnies - taught us all about the work of St Vincent De Paul during their Inspire Assembly last Friday. Our St Mark’s Mini Vinnies shared how St Vincent chose to follow Jesus by helping those in need and how his example inspires us to walk in Christ’s footsteps and help those who are less fortunate than us too. The St Mark’s Mini Vinnies have already begun their work, helping to raise money for charity at the MacMillan Coffee morning. Thank you children. 🙏

Today, our pupils took part in an important Allergy Aware Assembly, helping us to understand how we can keep ourselves and others safe in school. 🏫✨

We were incredibly grateful to hear from a child living with an allergy and a parent of young children with allergies, who shared their experiences and helped us understand what it is like to live with allergies every day. 💙

Our pupils learnt:
🔹 The signs and symptoms of an allergic reaction to look out for
🔹 Why it is so important to be allergy aware in school
🔹 How our actions can help keep our friends safe
🔹 The important word ANAPHYLAXIS and what it means when someone has a severe allergic reaction

Together, we can make our school a safer, kinder and more allergy-aware community. 💙🤝

🌍✨ Celebration of the Word ✨🌍

Today, we learnt all about St Vincent de Paul, following his feast day yesterday. 🙏

We explored the Gospel message from Matthew 25:35–40, reflecting on how St Vincent de Paul lived out Jesus’ call to show kindness, compassion and love through acts of service to those in need. ❤️

Our pupils discussed how we can continue St Vincent de Paul’s wonderful work in our own lives today, thinking about the many ways we can help, support and care for others within our school and wider community.

We also made links to the important work of our Mini Vinnies, who are inspired by St Vincent de Paul and are committed to putting their faith into action by helping others and making a positive difference. 🌟

We are so proud to introduce our Minnie Vinnies, our wonderful pupil mission team who are inspired by the work of St Vincent de Paul and the St Vincent de Paul Society (SVP). 🙏🏼✨

Throughout the year, our Minnie Vinnies will help us to put our faith into action by supporting charitable causes, organising fundraising activities and encouraging acts of kindness and generosity. 💙

We are excited to see the wonderful things our Minnie Vinnies will achieve this year as they follow in the footsteps of St Vincent de Paul and help us to make a difference in the lives of others. 🌟
