But Ruth had lived with her long enough to recognise when something wasn't right.

😢 RUTH RETURNED HOME HEARTBROKEN… BUT A KNOCK AT THE DOOR WAS ABOUT TO CHANGE EVERYTHING.

After all her studying, sacrifice and hard work, Ruth couldn't understand why her name had disappeared from the examination list.

She hadn't failed.

Her name had been removed.

But when she tried explaining this to Auntie, the response broke her even more.

“It doesn't matter the reason. The result is the same. Face reality.”

For a moment, Ruth began questioning herself.

“God, why? Am I not enough?”

Then suddenly…

KNOCK! KNOCK! KNOCK! 🚪

Ruth opened the door.

Standing outside was someone she never expected to see.

EMMANUEL. 😳

The young man she had met at the market weeks earlier had somehow heard about what happened with her examination.

But he hadn't come merely to sympathise.

He had news.

“I think there may be another opportunity for you.”

Even more surprising, Emmanuel knew someone who might be able to investigate what happened to Ruth's result.

Ruth couldn't understand it.

Why was Emmanuel going this far to help her?

His answer was simple:

After working as a community-health volunteer, Ruth finally raised enough money to register for the examination that could move her one step closer to her dream of becoming a doctor.

She had studied with old books. She had sacrificed sleep. And while other candidates had advantages Ruth could only dream about, she walked into that examination hall carrying the one thing nobody could buy for her:

Determination.

Lilian was there too.

Two brilliant young women. Two completely different backgrounds. One examination.

When it was over, Ruth knew she had done well.

But on the day the results were released, Lilian found her name.

Ruth's name was nowhere to be seen.

And Ruth hadn't even arrived yet…

Sorry guys I made a mistake I missed out episode 4 and posted episode 5 twice. Thats my mistake. Here it comes.

THE GIRL WHO NEVER LOST 😳🔥

Lilian was used to being number one.
She had the best resources, confidence, support—and she rarely came second to anyone.
So when the instructor announced that Ruth had scored 96%, Lilian couldn't believe it.
“Sir, are you sure? Could you check again?”
He checked.
But Lilian probably wished she had never asked. 😳
There had indeed been a mistake…
Ruth didn't score 96%.
SHE SCORED 98%! 🔥
Outside the classroom, Lilian confronted her.
LILIAN: “Enjoy it.”
RUTH: “Enjoy what?”
LILIAN: “Winning once.”
But Ruth's response showed exactly why this story is about much more than competition:
“I didn't come here to beat you. I came here to build my future.” ❤️
But just when Ruth thought she had taken another step towards becoming a doctor, the instructor made an announcement.
To proceed to the next stage, every successful student must pay a ₦50,000 registration fee.
Ruth's smile disappeared.
She had the intelligence.
She had the determination.
She had passed the examination.
There was just one problem…
RUTH DIDN'T HAVE ₦50,000. 💔
And Lilian noticed.

Ruth thought Emmanuel was just another ordinary young man from the village… until something happened at the market.

After joining the community-health volunteer programme, Ruth met Emmanuel again.

He smiled when he saw her.

EMMANUEL: “Doctor.”

RUTH: “I'm not a doctor.”

Emmanuel smiled.

“Not yet.” ❤️

As they walked through the market, Emmanuel asked why she was working so hard when life kept putting obstacles in her way.

Ruth's answer surprised him:

“Because nobody is coming to rescue me. I have to keep going.”

Emmanuel admired her determination.

But moments later, an older well-dressed man approached him.

He almost said:

“Your High—” 😳

Emmanuel quickly stopped him.

“Please… not here.”

Ruth became suspicious.

Then she saw something that made absolutely no sense.

The supposedly ordinary Emmanuel was getting into a luxury black vehicle with a chauffeur/security nearby.

Ruth stood watching.

The poor young man she thought she knew suddenly didn't look so poor anymore.

“Who ARE you, Emmanuel?” 👀
