Smartlyte was established to help diverse communities engage in accredited training programmes and to develop essential life skills. Our work with St John Ambulance has helped many people to learn essential first aid skills. Our ability to engage with hard to reach communities and address their needs has led us to becoming the first choice provider for many organisations. The philosophy is simple,

One click can change everything.

Did you know:

👉 1 in 4 primary school children have shared personal information
👉 75% of parents worry their children aren’t making safe choices
👉 But many haven’t had a conversation about online privacy

The truth is - kids are growing up online.

And just like we teach them about road safety or stranger danger…
we need to start teaching them about digital safety too.

💬 That’s why we’re talking about the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO)“Switched on to Privacy” campaign on our Get Families Talking radio show on Unity FM - Birmingham UK today.

We’ll be sharing:
✔ Simple ways to start the conversation
✔ What children are really sharing online
✔ How families can feel more confident

Because it doesn’t have to be complicated.
Sometimes it starts with:

“Who are you chatting with?”
“Did you know what that app collects?”

📻 Tune in today and let’s Get Families Talking.

Let’s support our children - together 💙

🚀 What impact can one digital session really make?

We asked… and the results have blown us away.

✨ More than 8 in 10 participants told us this would make a real difference to their everyday life.

This isn’t just about learning how to use a tablet.

This is about people feeling more confident, more independent, and more connected to the world around them.

📱 From getting online for the first time
🔐 To feeling safer using the internet
🏠 To managing everyday life with more ease

We’re seeing real, meaningful change - in a short space of time.

💬 “Having no experience at all, I’ve found this life-changing.”

This is what happens when the right support is brought into trusted community spaces, with the right partners working together to make it happen.

Huge thanks to Lloyds Bank Academy, Vodafone UK and our Housing Association partners for helping us deliver this impact.

And we’re only just getting started 💙

Hall Green NNS Update – March 2026 08/03/2026

We are really pleased to be featured in the latest Hall Green NNS newsletter.

Working alongside the Hall Green Neighbourhood Network Scheme NNS has been a great example of what happens when community organisations come together with a shared purpose. The programme is all about helping people stay connected, active and independent in their communities - especially older adults and those with long-term health needs.

Through our workshops and masterclasses we have been able to support local groups and residents with digital skills, confidence and new opportunities to learn - and the best part is seeing people realise that technology can actually make life easier, not harder.

A big thank you to the Hall Green NNS team for the partnership and for championing the work happening across the community.

Our Public Health Measures Masterclass was a huge success! We supported Hall Green Neighbourhood Network Scheme NNS local businesses to understand how to apply the measures in their grant funded projects.

We have developed customised online and offline resources that are engaging, interactive and most importantly supports and reinforces people’s learning.

A very busy workshop delivered to residents of Bournville Village Trust. We supported residents to stay safe online, understand how to be aware of online scams and how to create strong passwords. Oh and by the way, all residents were gifted with a free tablet supplied by Lloyds Bank Academy and 6 months free mobile data supplied by Vodafone UK.

Some amazing feedback from residents who received our support. A huge thanks to Jane Weston for helping with organising on the day.

💻✨ Who said Excel can’t be fun?!

Yesterday’s Excel Masterclass at Witton Lodge Community Association was packed with formulas, laughter, and “aha!” moments! 😄

We tackled:
🧮 Basic calculations (yes, maths can be friendly!)
🔒 Data validation (because even spreadsheets need boundaries)
🤔 The mighty IF function (because life is full of conditions)
❄️ And yes… we even froze panes while the sun was shining outside! 🌞

Big shoutout to all the local organisations who joined us — your energy, questions, and willingness to dive in made it such a great session. Whether it was your first time using Excel or you were just brushing up, you smashed it! 💪📊

👉 Stay tuned for more digital masterclasses — we’re just getting started!

🏅 We are officially celebrating an MBE!

We are thrilled to share that our very own Hafsha Shaikh, has been recognised in the King’s Birthday Honours List 2025 with an MBE for her services to digital inclusion👏🎉

This honour reflects Hafsha’s tireless work giving voice to the seldom heard — from helping older adults access the NHS App to influencing national frameworks like the Minimum Digital Living Standards and initiatives with Good Things Foundation, Virgin Media, Vodafone UK, Mastercard, and NHS England.

It is also a moment for all of us at Smartlyte to reflect on our mission: to make digital inclusion real — through trust, innovation, and grassroots connection.

We are proud to support this work locally, regionally, and nationally.

Join us in celebrating this incredible milestone!
