*** INFORMATION ABOUT THE POSTER COMPETITION***

Please submit posters to [email protected] and CC: [email protected]

Posters are used frequently in medical research to present information in a professional and easily digestible manner. For this competition we are looking for posters worthy of presentation at an international conference. This may be a piece of original research, an audit or a case/ case series. For example; a student could submit an abstract based on their experience providing medical care in the field (a case study) or any other aspect of health care in an austere setting.
CRITERIA
Judges are asked to consider the following criteria when grading posters and deciding who will be presenting in the conference as well as who will win first, second and third prizes.
ORIGINALITY:
How original is the concept presented in this poster? Or, how original is the new approach to an old problem?
SIGNIFICANCE:
How significant are the poster's conclusions in increasing understanding of wilderness and expedition medicine? Have the main themes of the poster been extrapolated to apply to the wider field? (case study)
PRESENTATION:
How logical are the ideas presented in this poster? How interesting is the manner of presentation? How clearly written and free of significant grammatical problems is its abstract?
METHODS:
If applicable, how suitable is the research design for the stated objectives, and how appropriate are any statistical techniques applied?
VISUAL IMPACT:
How effective is this poster visually? How valuable is each figure and graph in furthering viewers' understanding of the research subject?
INTERVIEW:
How knowledgeable and engaging is the presenting author? Can they answer questions posed by attendees well?
