The fourth Sunday of Advent.

On the fourth week of Advent, we light the final purple candle to mark the final week of prayer and penance as we wait for the birth of our Saviour. This final candle, the “Angel’s Candle,” symbolises peace. It reminds us of the message of the angels: “Peace on Earth, Good Will Toward Men.”

Today we pray for the souls of our loved ones and those who have no-one to pray for them. We do this because their souls might be in purgatory, a temporary place of punishment that sinners are waiting to be purified of their sins before ascending to heaven.

"Eternal rest grant onto all the holy souls and forgive them any sins. Amen"

Reception and KS1 have had the BEST time this afternoon after a visit from the Animal Man 🥰 They asked some amazing questions and learned lots of astonishing facts about these fascinating creatures!

We had some very brave children 🕷️

Just look at their faces 🤩

Thank you to our teachers for arranging this memorable experience.

Reception have been inspired by the determination of today and have built their own space rockets out of wooden blocks 🚀

We had a think about what we would take with us to space, we had lots of suggestions but agreed that teddies, beds and mummies were essential!

How wonderf to see this student from Mr King's class using the class prayer bag to pray the Rosary at home!

For homework, Y4LT were asked to go shopping to look at packaging of fruit and vegetables to see how many food miles they had travelled. They snapped pictures with the fruit or vegetable that had travelled the furthest.
