We are looking to hire a passionate Level 3 nursery practitioner, who enjoys working with young children, and somebody who feels they could be an asset to Our Little Angelz Nursery Team.
Someone who is flexible, hard working and passionate about children’s learning play and development. We are looking for someone who works well within a team, who is reliable and enthusiastic, who also demonstrates an ability to work on their own initiative.
Main Purpose of Role: To be a proactive member of a staff team who provide a safe, stimulating and inclusive environment in which babies and young children are supported and encouraged to achieve their full potential, and to offer full and practical support in the day to day running of the nursery
Duties will include:
· Providing the highest standards of quality care and education.
· Working in partnership with and supporting the nursery manager and Deputy’s to ensure the daily running and administration of the nursery.
· Adhering to the Policies & Procedures and compliance with the Children Act, Health and Safety legislation and within the guidelines of Ofsted/CSIW and the National Standards.
· Ensuring confidentiality is maintained in the nursery, respect and maintains confidentiality in relation to children, families, staff and the nursery.
· To implement and evaluate the planning ensuring suitable experiences and activities for the children in your room, providing a safe and stimulating environment for the children to develop, learn and grow.
· Work in close partnership to develop and maintain good relationships with parents / carers and other family member.
· To ensure that a polite, courteous and helpful attitude is demonstrated at all times to the children, their parents and other staff members. To encourage an atmosphere of co-operation and respect.
· Attending regular meetings with the manager, deputies, and room leaders and participating in staff meetings.
· Keeping and monitoring accident, incident and risk assessment records. Ensuring these are filled in correctly, signed by management, and all relevant staff are informed, ensuring parental signature.
· To ensure the provision of a high quality environment to meet the needs of individual children, from differing cultures and religious backgrounds, and stages of development. Offering all children equal opportunities with regard to their religious persuasion, racial origins, gender, disabilities, cultural or linguistic background;
· To have an awareness of the requirements of the nursery as a whole and to be familiar with the routines of each of the rooms.
· To ensure that health and safety and security measures are constantly maintained
· Working as part of a team.
· Keeping and monitoring accident, incident and risk assessment records, ensuring these are getting witnessed and signed by parents as well as all medicines being administrated on time.
· Keeping up to date with children’s learning and development, ensuring all tapestry and learning journals are up to date and next step are being completed.
· To ensure good standards of hygiene and safety standards appropriate for the needs of young children.
· To work within the framework of the Children Act, the Early Years Foundation Stage, Statutory Framework, the Nursery’s Policies and Procedures and current legislation relating to childcare.
· To share in the responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children at the nursery at all times.
· To be involved in out of hours work activities, attending staff meetings, training, parents evening, open days and supporting the business.
· To be a key person to a group of children and be responsible for tracking, monitoring and progressing their development.
· To take responsibility for record keeping in line with current systems, ensuring records are accurate and completed on time including daily record books, learning journeys, accident forms, messages books and observations.
