Taking in waist bands of trousers and skirts
Replacing Zips in dresses,skirts and trousers.
Jackets alterations includes:
Taking in , shortening jacket sleeves,narrowing shoulders (time permitting) shortening jackets and coats.
Adding panels to dresses if too tight
Replacing buttons by hand , replacing hook and bars.darning rips in jeans and putting in patches.
Adding v on back seams of trousers and jeans if waist is too tight..
After you learn the techniques of altering clothes , you can potentially set up your own alterations business.

Chalk ,fine liner pens and pencils, tracing wheel,glue stick,A5 writing book,pencil case.
This is the only course in UK if not the world that gives all students tools and equipment to keep

After my student had draped a basic waist block on the dummy I showed her how to transfer the draped block onto paper,this will be the basic block that will eventually become a dress design.

My Tailoring student cutting out her waistcoat pattern that had been draped on her body to create a basic block. The block was then designed and adapted to create a working Waistcoat pattern that is cut out.
The pattern will be made up into a traditional waistcoat with handstitched buttonholes.
