We’re looking for Community Council Members to join our Academy Community Councils.

Academy Community Councils are the local committees that help our academies provide the best opportunities for children and young people.
You don’t need to work in education or have governance experience.

We’re looking for people who care about their community, want young people to succeed and are happy to bring their own perspective to the table.

Training and support are provided.

A huge congratulations to Miss Campbell and Jake, who tied the knot yesterday and are now officially Mr & Mrs Thelwell!

💛It’s been quite a week for goodbyes, not only Mrs T and our fab Year 6 children, we also say goodbye to Miss Campbell, who after 3 years with us is moving on.
Here’s a little message from her:

“I would just like to say a massive thank you to all the children, parents and families who have supported me over the last 3 years during my time at Portland.

I have absolutely loved every single minute of it and loved my classes over the past 2 years as a teacher.

I couldn’t be more grateful for all the support you all have shown me. Wishing all your children the best of luck and everyone a very happy summer!🌟🩷 Miss Campbell signing out...”

💛After 26 incredible years, Mrs Tolcher has retired! Here is a message from her as she leaves to spend time with her lovely family.

💛”I want to take a moment to thank you all, to all the families I’ve had the joy of working with over the years. Your partnerships and trust has been the heart of my journey here.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for always making me feel so supported and appreciated. I will miss our children, their family’s, the daily laughter with my friends, the wonderful connections, and this amazing community.

Finally a huge thank you to everyone who has given me a hug this week, wished me well, given me a gift and for everything else in between. I have had the best last week and I am feeling grateful for the last 26 years with you.

I hope you all have a lovely Sunner, as will I, with no early get ups anymore!

🦷 A huge thank you to The Dentaid Bus for visiting Co-op Academy Portland today!

🦷Mrs Shannon and Miss Nina were delighted to welcome the team into school, and what a fantastic success it's been! Every appointment was fully booked, with children receiving a range of treatments including fillings, extractions and referrals for ongoing dental care.

🦷We're so grateful to the Dentaid team for helping improve access to dental treatment for our children and families.

🦷Missed out today? Don't worry – the Dentaid Bus will be returning to Portland very soon!

📢 Need to be seen sooner? The Dentaid Bus will be at Seacombe Children's Centre next week. Please pop and see Miss Nina in the school office to book an appointment.

🦷Thank you again to everyone who helped make today such a positive and successful event!
