๐Ÿ‘‹ Getting Ready for the New Term โœจ
We hope you're having a wonderful summer!
As September approaches, weโ€™re looking forward to welcoming our students back and setting everyone up for a happy year ahead.
To help make the transition back into school as smooth and stress-free as possible, weโ€™re hosting a special Parents' Event on Wednesday 2nd September.

๐Ÿ—“ What to Expect:
โ€ข 30-Minute Tutor Appointment: You and your child will meet with their form tutor to go over timetables, discuss hopes for the coming year, and get everything off to a great start. (Please check your inboxโ€”parents and carers have previously been emailed with their allocated time slot!)
โ€ข Paperwork & Refreshments: You can complete and return start-of-year paperwork during your visit. Head over to G19 where our wonderful House teams will have drinks ready for you while you fill them in with summer updates! โ˜•๐Ÿฅค
โ€ข Extra Support: Our House Teams, SENDCO, Safeguarding Lead, and Office Team will also be on hand if thereโ€™s anything specific youโ€™d like to chat about.

We really appreciate your support with this essential event - it makes such a big difference for our students as they settle back in.

We canโ€™t wait to see you on the 2nd! ๐Ÿ˜Š๐ŸŒŸ

๐ŸŒณ๐Ÿ’š A Huge Thank You, Biffa! ๐Ÿ’š๐ŸŒณ

A big thank you to Biffa for their very kind donation of trees to Joseph Paxton Campus. We are incredibly grateful for your generosity and support. ๐ŸŒฑ

Our students are excited to care for the trees and watch them grow over the coming years. We'll be sure to share updates on their progress... and we can't wait for the day we can make our very own cherry jam from the fruit they produce! ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ˜Š

Thank you once again, Biffa, for helping us make our school environment even greener. ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ‘

๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ Geography Highlights at JPC ๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ๐ŸŒ - C Cassidy

This half term, our KS3 and Year 10 Geography students enjoyed taking their learning beyond the classroom through a range of exciting fieldwork experiences. ๐ŸŒฟ

Our Year 9 students visited Claughton Village and Oxton, investigating topics including sense of place and consumerism. They confidently collected data, interviewed members of the public, and presented their findings using maps, graphs and reports. ๐Ÿ‘

Meanwhile, Year 10 travelled to Loggerheads to investigate the River Alyn, collecting real geographical data to compare straight and meandering sections of the river as part of their GCSE fieldwork. ๐ŸŒŠ

It has been fantastic to see our students developing their confidence, teamwork and investigative skills while applying their classroom learning in real-life environments. Well done to everyone involved! ๐ŸŒŸ

๐ŸŽจ๐Ÿ“ธ Art & Photography Highlights at JPC ๐Ÿ“ธ๐ŸŽจ - R McMillan

It's been another creative half term in Art & Photography! ๐ŸŒŸ

Our Year 9 students completed their fantastic pop-up book, Dotties Days, in collaboration with Mrs Rimmer and Frank Cottrell-Boyce, while developing their paper engineering and illustration skills. They also worked with Ms Cooney in History, creating powerful wartime propaganda posters inspired by the First and Second World Wars.

Our Year 10 Photography students enjoyed a visit to Liverpool, capturing stunning images of the city's iconic cathedrals to support their GCSE coursework. ๐Ÿ“ท

A huge congratulations to our Year 11 Art & Photography students, who completed their 10-hour GCSE practical exam, producing thoughtful and creative work. We wish them every success in their future studies! ๐Ÿ‘โœจ

๐Ÿด๐Ÿถ Animal Care Highlights at JPC ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿด - H Rice

Our Year 10 Animal Care students enjoyed the first of two visits to West Wirral Riding Stables, where they gained valuable hands-on experience working with Trixie the pony and Murphy the dog. ๐ŸŒŸ

Students learnt how to safely handle and care for large and small animals, mucked out and prepared Trixie's stable, and collected evidence towards their BTEC Level 1/2 Animal Care Award. They even finished the visit with a well-deserved pamper session, grooming Trixie, plaiting her mane and treating her to some of her favourite mint treats! ๐Ÿ’š

A fantastic day of practical learning, teamwork and animal care. Well done, everyone! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿพ

๐Ÿงฎโœจ Maths Highlights at JPC โœจ๐Ÿงฎ P Tam, D Danks, R Kingan

Maths has been full of fun and challenge this half term! Students have enjoyed tackling The 1% Club-inspired problem-solving puzzles, putting their logic and reasoning skills to the test โ€“ with many even cracking the elusive 1% question! ๐Ÿคฏ๐Ÿ‘

Among our favourite "head-scratchers" have been this 35% and 1% question, have a try yourself!!

Our JPC Number Tumbler Challenge has also been a huge success, helping students build confidence and fluency with numbers while trying to beat their own personal bests. Well done to our Year 9 student, who currently tops the leaderboard with an incredible score of 25! ๐Ÿ†

We're also proud to be working collaboratively with colleagues across the Skylark Partnership Trust, sharing ideas and showcasing the fantastic Maths provision at JPC. We look forward to welcoming visiting colleagues to our school to see our approach in action.

Well done to everyone for embracing the challenge and proving that maths can be fun, engaging and rewarding! ๐ŸŒŸ
