Anselmian Association

Anselmian Association The Anselmian Association was established by ex pupils of the College over 65 years ago to help keep the Old Boys' community alive.

We aim to:

- Be a forum for Old Boys to keep in touch, both with each other and with St Anselm's College today.

- Hold reunion events at the College (and elsewhere) during the year. Annual events include the Old Boys Dinner in November & VI Form leavers Barbeque in July.

- Provide networking & mentoring opportunities for younger boys leaving the College and needing support.

- Playing a

n active part in St Anselm's College community life, supporting the fundraising and social activities.

- The Association acts as the custodian of the Boards of Remembrance & Record of Headmasters & Head Boys of the College in the Main Hall. This site also contains historical photographs from the College’s history and is added to regularly. Membership of the Association is £10 per year for a full member. The Headmaster of the College is the President of the Anselmian Association and a committee elected by its members at the Annual General Meeting in November manages the Association.

Fellow Anselmians,

The Annual Dinner will be held in the College Hall on Friday 29th September at 7.00 for 7.30pm

Dress code is lounge suits/blazers for the men. As in recent years wives/girlfriends are welcome and I am hoping it will be a fantastic evening for us to get together and enjoy ourselves.

I am very pleased to announce that this year’s guest speaker is BBC broadcaster Andy Gill, whose son successfully completed his A levels at the College this summer. I am once again hoping to keep speeches and formalities to a minimum this year, to ensure there is more time to meet and talk together.

Following the success of last year’s event I am pleased to announce that we have arranged for the same caterers to prepare the meal, which I am sure we will all enjoy.

The cost of tickets will be £5 cheaper than last years’ at £30 per person with tables of ten. I have been assured that the bar will be open until late, giving you plenty of time to enjoy the evening.

Please advise our secretary, Terry Holsgrave through the association website without delay if you wish to attend, stating the number of tickets you require. Alternatively, please drop us a message to the Facebook Inbox and I will respond as soon as possible.

I look forward to seeing you all on the 29th September.

New Clubhouse

As you will probably know by now the club have applied for planning permission to build a new clubhouse, the local conservation society is collecting names on a petition to try and block our application.

One of our players Ravi Sibal who is also a coach in our junior section has started an online petition in favour of the club’s planning application.

If you haven’t yet done so please click on the link below and sign the online petition.

A planning application has been submitted to Wirral Council by Anselmians Rugby Club to redevelop the existing facilities on the existing site in Eastham Village.
