JEE GOO CHAMPIONSHIPS 2026 ❤️🖤
WE HAVE OUR WINNERS! 🥋🏆

After 8 months of competition, determination, hard work and plenty of battles, today we reached the final day of our Jee Goo Championships 2026! 🔥

Throughout the last 8 months, our red belts and above have been battling it out every month, putting their skills, technique and courage to the test as they fought for those all-important championship points.

The scoring is simple — but every point counts!
🥇 WIN = 3 points
🤝🏻 DRAW = 2 points
🥊 LOSS = 1 point

Every student has had 2 sparring matches each month, but there was another important lesson too, being prepared matters! Students could lose points for not having the correct safety equipment, such as their gum shield, chest guard or groin protection.

And after 8 months… we finally have our champions! 🏆🔥

🥇 ADULT JEE GOO CHAMPION:
Alfie - 35 / 48 points

🥇 JUNIOR JEE GOO CHAMPION
Ernie - 37 / 48 points

A massive congratulations to both of our winners! 👏🏻👏🏻

You have shown skill, technique, confidence, determination and, most importantly, heart throughout the championship. You absolutely deserve to be crowned our Jee Goo Champions 2026! 🏆

To everyone else who competed commiserations, but be proud! ❤️

Every single one of you put up a fantastic fight, pushed yourselves and helped make this year’s championship so exciting. Take what you’ve learned, come back stronger next year and who knows… you could be the ones wearing those championship belts around your waists! 👊🏻🔥

And our champions don’t just get the glory…

🏆 They keep the championship belts for the remainder of the year!
👕 They’ll receive custom-designed championship T-shirts for the 2027 training year!
🎄 And they’ll be presented with their belts again at our 2026 End of Year Christmas Presentation!

A HUGE THANK YOU TO THE RNLI! 🚨🌊

This weekend we were incredibly lucky to welcome Emily & Tom from the RNLI New Brighton to speak to all our students, and what an amazing visit it was! 💙

Emily is already a very familiar face at MPW, as one of our fantastic instructors, and we were delighted to have her joined by her husband Tom, who also volunteers with the RNLI. 👏🏻

They gave our students a fascinating insight into the work of the RNLI and the importance of water safety, covering everything from:

🌊 The Water Safety Code
🛟 Survival techniques
🚨 What to do in an emergency
🏖️ Understanding beach safety and the different coloured flags
🏊 What to do when swimming in the sea
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Who the RNLI helps and rescues

But it wasn’t just about listening! 👀

Emily & Tom brought along some of the actual safety equipment used by RNLI volunteers, including helmets, life jackets and protective clothing, and even demonstrated just how quickly they can get fully kitted up… in under ONE MINUTE! 😮🛟

Our students then got the chance to try on the equipment themselves and, of course, ask as many questions as they wanted! 🙋‍♂️🙋‍♀️

It was fantastic to see so many of our students engaged, curious and learning some potentially life-saving knowledge. ❤️

A massive THANK YOU to Emily & Tom for giving up their own time to come and speak to our students, and an even bigger thank you for the incredible work you both do volunteering with the RNLI New Brighton. 👏🏻🛟

What you do to help keep people safe in our waters is truly amazing, and we are incredibly grateful. 💙

AFTERSCHOOL TAEKWONDO CLASSES ARE BACK! 🥋📚

We’re excited to announce that from September through to December, our afterschool Taekwondo programme is completely booked! 🙌🏻

When we first launched our school programme, our goal was simple: to bring Taekwondo and the benefits of sport into the school environment. The response has been incredible, with amazing support from schools, teachers, parents and students. Even better, many children have gone on to become full-time members of our club!

This term we’ll be returning to:
✅ St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School, Prenton
✅ Townfield Primary School

🔥 And we’re delighted to welcome Prenton Primary School to our afterschool programme for the very first time!

We can’t wait to get started and see everyone back training.
