Outstanding GCSE Results for St. Anselm’s College!

Huge congratulations to all our amazing Year 11 students on their exceptional GCSE results.

For the third consecutive year, GCSE outcomes at St. Anselm’s College have improved, with the Class of 2026 achieving the highest Attainment 8 score in the College’s history. An outstanding 41% of grades were awarded at Grades 7–9.

Maths excelled once again, with more than 55% of students securing the very highest grades and almost 80% achieving Grades 6–9.

Special congratulations go to Vasile Mateescu, who achieved an extraordinary set of straight Grade 9s, and to John Chan, Malachy Cubbin, Luke Fisher and Chimemelie Okeke, who each achieved straight Grade 9s in every subject and one Grade 8.

To every member of Year 11: you rose to the challenge, demonstrated tremendous resilience and worked with determination throughout your GCSE journey.

We could not be prouder of each and every one of you whose achievements extend far beyond the classroom. In addition to their academic success, students are Cheshire Cup Rugby Champions and National Athletics and Cross-Country Champions and live out the 8 Essentials of an Edmund Rice Education in all they do.

Indeed success is the result of small improvements made consistently and today, your hard work has truly paid off.

Congratulations to our Year 13 students on their achievements and the many exciting opportunities that now await them!

A special congratulations goes to Alfie, who has secured a place at the University of Cambridge to study History and Politics. Abyan achieved an exceptional A*, A*, A, A and will study Mathematics and Economics at the London School of Economics and Political Science.

John will study Economics and Mathematics at Durham University, while Sean will spend a year playing cricket in Australia before taking up his place at Newcastle University next year. Both achieved an excellent A*, A, B.

Binil achieved three A grades and will also be heading to Durham University, while Christian, who achieved A*, B, B, will study International Business Management at the University of Sheffield.

Jamie, Patrick, Harry, James, Oscar and Javier each achieved an impressive A, A, B. A second Alfie achieved A, B and a Distinction* and will study Law at the University of Liverpool.

We are incredibly proud of all our Year 13 students and wish them every success as they begin the next exciting chapter of their lives.

A reminder that students born between 1st September 2007 and 31st August 2008 are eligible for the MenB vaccine (all current year 13s). This vaccine helps protect against meningococcal disease, including meningitis and septicaemia, and is particularly important for young people before they move on to university or other higher education settings where the risk of infection can increase.

MoJo Pharmacy branches will be commencing the Meningitis B vaccination service for eligible Year 13 students from next week.

Operating from Woodchurch Road Pharmacy, Heswall Hills Pharmacy and St Anne Street Pharmacy.

Appointments start from Monday 20th July, providing a convenient local option for students who may not yet have received their vaccination before leaving school.
