A full day of First Aid training, alongside an online Paediatric First Aid course complete. ✅️

Childminders attend these courses every 3 years. These help develop the knowledge and confidence needed to respond to emergencies and care for children safely, giving parents peace of mind that their little ones are in safe hands.

Things change during the three years and I am lucky to be in a network of childminders who keep eachother updated as best as possible about changes also.

Ensuring keeping children safe in education is always a top priority 🚑

Today, we were on our way to a play centre when we realised it was closed for a private party. So, I took a little detour while deciding where to go, and we ended up in Port Sunlight, exploring a lovely little park and woodland area. 🌳🍃

I used to live here and played in this very area as a child, so I remembered how safe and secure it was for little wanderers. And what a fantastic morning we had!

It was such a joy to watch what toddlers can discover and achieve when they’re given the freedom to explore without flashing lights, loud noises or overstimulating toys — just surrounded by nature. 🌿

We listened to the birds, explored fallen leaves, went on the all-important toddler stick hunt 😂, made echo sounds in the tunnel, played peekaboo amongst the willow trees, chatted to passers-by with their dogs, and ran up and down the hills together.
There was so much to see, hear, touch and discover — simply by being outdoors and following their curiosity. 🍂🌱

Sometimes the simplest, unexpected adventures really are the best. ❤️

🎵 This Week's Learning 🎨
This week, the children have really enjoyed exploring our nursery rhyme sack, with the Humpty Dumpty puppet being a particular favourite. 🥚 Seeing their interest and engagement, I decided to extend their learning by introducing a creative activity where the children painted a cardboard box to make a wall for Humpty Dumpty to sit on. 🖌️ They enjoyed working together on their creation, which we then added to the tuff tray to encourage further imaginative play.

🧒 The eldest child confidently recited the whole nursery rhyme, demonstrating their growing memory, language and communication skills.

👧 The middle aged child showed a lovely understanding of kindness and caring. When Humpty Dumpty fell off the wall, she recognised that he needed comforting and gently gave the puppet a cuddle while saying, "Aww." ❤️ This was a wonderful example of her developing empathy and caring nature.

👶 The youngest child enjoyed freely exploring the paint and making marks, supporting their sensory exploration and creative development. 🎨 They also began copying the cuddling actions they observed, demonstrating early imitation and developing social awareness.

🌟 It was wonderful to see how one familiar nursery rhyme provided opportunities for the children to develop their communication and language, creativity, emotional awareness, social skills and imaginative play, with each child learning and developing at their own individual stage

School's out for summer and many of our usual playgroups are taking a break, so we've been creating our own adventures instead!

Today we had lots of fun exploring our new Dear Zoo story sack, bringing the much-loved story to life through books, props and imaginative play. Afterwards, we headed to Upton Library to meet up with friends, where the children enjoyed putting on their own puppet shows using the library's puppet theatre. 📖

The older children confidently used their imagination to create their own stories, developing their language, creativity and storytelling skills as they performed for their audience. 🎭🎥

The younger children loved watching the puppet shows before taking turns to explore the theatre themselves. They had great fun opening and closing the curtains peeking in and out, playing with the puppets and using simple animals sounds. 🐖🐄🐑

A wonderful day filled with stories, creativity, communication and friendships.
