The two of us have worked in teaching and education for over 20 years. We have seen fundamental changes both in the curriculum but perhaps more importantly, in the students themselves. We have also been private tutors and applied a more bespoke educational package. that primarily caters for the student’s needs rather than that of the curriculum. These changes have become even more acute and pronou
nced through the detrimental effects of Covid. A desire to do well has often been replaced by a fear of failure. The blind pursuit of ‘success’ has undermined the real purpose of education. At Arise, we believe that the real potential of a student lies in the individual themselves. Life skills such as diligence, resilience and integrity can be developed through education and through a desire to do the right thing. Every young person has both the potential and right to succeed. Learning is more about developing a curiosity, than remembering a series of facts in chronological order. With improved confidence and enthusiasm, access to education becomes much more realistic. Parents are often seeking academic success for their children but no amount of nagging or lectures is going to achieve such a goal. Only when the students themselves are enlightened to the benefits of education and hard-work can they really ‘arise and shine’. The relationships we build with our young people and their parents are vital. We believe, as parents, you need to be involved in the tuition process so our communication with you is vital. You will receive weekly feedback and progress reports that inform and guide you and your child as to how we can use the tuition for educational and personal growth together. Part of our work is also about the greater good that we can bring to the world. As a business, we believe it is our civic duty to give back to the local, national and international community. This is something we will continue to build and develop as part of our journey.
