Today was a celebration of everything that makes our school so special. I am incredibly proud of our wonderful children and every single member of our school community. Collectively, you have helped create the most joyful, loving and caring place to learn and grow.

Leading such a wonderful school family has been the greatest privilege of my life. While I may be moving on to lead another school, I will always be part of the St Patrick’s family. 💚 Lots more celebrations to come next week as we wave goodbye to our Y6 pupils.

So much excellence this week at St Patrick’s!

🥉 Our Mini Mavericks team took an amazing 3rd place in the science competition at Serlby Park and another group of children represented our school brilliantly at a Trust event at St Bernard’s.

Class 1 loved designing and making their own toys in DT. We were blown away by this week’s KS2 production – highlights to be shared after the final performance tomorrow!

We’re also looking forward to our whole school trip to National Trust site Clumber Park.

From 25 June to 1 September 2026, the Government has reduced VAT from 20% to 5% on a range of family activities to help make days out more affordable over Summer.

This includes:
- Children's meals in restaurants
- Family and children's tickets for cinemas, theatres, concerts and exhibitions
- Entry to many attractions in the UK

In addition, children aged 5–15 in England can travel on buses for free throughout August.

We have an exciting new recycling project within school. ♻️
We would like children to bring in plastic lids/bottle tops, these will then be recycled in sustainable outside equipment for our school. 🏫
Our recycling box will now be permanently placed in school and easily accessed by the children.
Please bring in as many as you can daily/weekly or monthly - we are happy to also have donations from your wider family and neighbours 😊
This is a fantastic opportunity for the children to experience recycling and being kind to our planet 🌏
