Only a week to go!!

We can't wait to be back at Kempton Park Racecourse Racecourse for The London International Guitar Show

It's always great to get out, meet fellow guitar nerds, catch up with familiar faces and chat to new ones. There's nothing quite like spending a day surrounded by guitars and people who are just as passionate about them as we are!

You'll find us on the first floor stand PS75 & 76.

Drop by and say hello!

A massive congratulations to Fred Lawton, who joined us yesterday for a One to One Guitar Electronics Course!

Fred works at Bonhams Auctioneers in London, helping sell some seriously legendary pieces of music history. We're talking rock stars' guitars and collections belonging to the likes of Gary Moore! 🤘 So, while he's no stranger to iconic instruments, soldering was a whole different ball game!

Fred arrived with virtually zero soldering experience, apart from one lesson back in school. Fast forward to the end of the day, and he'd gone from soldering newbie to wiring up a Strat loom to a seriously high standard. Not bad for a day's work!

It's always great seeing people get stuck in, build their confidence and realise what they're capable of with a soldering iron in hand.

Great work, Fred! Thanks for spending the day with us, and who knows what you'll be fixing next!

A huge congratulations to Dot, Richard and Barry for smashing our Pro Setup Course last week!

We had a real mix of experience in the classroom, from someone who’d already built quite a few guitars to someone who was nervous about changing a set of strings and had never picked up a screwdriver!

By the end of the course, all three had developed their skills and left with the confidence to carry out a proper guitar setup, understanding how to get the best out of an instrument and make adjustments with purpose.

Want to learn how to set up guitars properly? Check out our Pro Setup Course at the Guitar Tech Training Centre.

Congratulations to Barry on completing our first StewMac Neck Jig adapted Levelling Course, last week!

We first met Barry at the Brighton Guitar Show, where he was checking out our StewMac Neck Jig. Designed to simulate string tension and support the neck during levelling, a tool that's in operation every week at the workshop.

With plenty of experience building guitars from scratch and even teaching guitar building at a school, Barry was keen to get some hands-on training before committing to the jig himself.

So, when he got in touch, we specially tailored our popular levelling course to focus on the levelling under tension with the neck jig which gave him the experience he was looking for.

Thanks for coming along, Barry, and happy levelling!

All set up and ready to go!

Tomorrow we’re putting on a special edition of our much-loved levelling course. As requested by the student, the Stewart MacDonald Erlewine Neck Jig edition teaches how to use the neck jig to level under string tension.

A fantastic opportunity to explore precision fret levelling using this brilliant piece of kit. A jig that's in use nearly every day in our workshop.

We’re always looking for ways to tailor our courses to the needs of students and take their skills to the next level.
