Congratulations to drumming superstar Tom Smithies for absolutely battering his grade 8 with a 95% distinction! 16 years ago, when Jos got 94% I thought it would never be beaten - I was wrong! Off to Leeds College of Music to study Jazz performance, Tom is destined for great things I’m sure. Well done and best of luck, Tom! 🥁

Happy new academic year! It’s been a long time since I posted on here, but, that’s not to say things have been quiet (quite the opposite, actually 😜). There has been an awful lot to celebrate over the last year, including exam success, concerts, GCSE/A-Level results, successful music college applicants and many more...I’ve never been great with social media but I intend to put more on here over the course of the year to show you some of the great things going on! I may even stick up the odd lesson myself, should anyone be incredibly stuck for things to do! Meanwhile, a message for all my current students - ALL LESSONS are back on from NEXT WEEK. Sad news for the drumming world. Despite not being everyone’s cuppa, there’s no doubt millions of people were inspired to pick up a pair of sticks because of him. RIP Joey Jordison 🥁
