Year 11, get ahead of the game! Access our revision guides purchase link to see the range of revision guides recommended by our departments to support with revision and purchase them early. They can be accessed at

Revision guides help efficient studying, improve memory retention and focus on exam-relevant material. They are an import tool to support revision for mock and final exams.

In readiness for our return to school, please ensure you are fully equipped ready for the year ahead for your first day back. You will need a full set of equipment including highlighters and flashcards, ready for your revision.

Today we celebrated the achievements of our Year 11 students as they collected their GCSE results.

From exceptional grades to exciting next steps in sixth form, college, apprenticeships and employment, it's been a day full of smiles, pride and celebration.

GCSE results day has brought celebrations to Ormiston SWB Academy as Year 11 students reflect on their achievements and look towards the future.

The school, which is on Dudley Street and part of Ormiston Academies Trust, is celebrating the achievements of its students, who have shown resilience and ambition throughout their studies and are now preparing to take their next steps in education, training or employment.

This yearā€™s cohort achieved success across a wide range of subjects, with encouraging outcomes for all students. The results reflect the studentsā€™ determination, the dedication of staff and the invaluable support of families.

The whole school community has come together today to mark the studentsā€™ achievements, hard work and dedication, as they look ahead to the next stage of their education.

While all students have achieved well, some individual achievements include:
Ā· Harsh who achieved grade 9s in English language and chemistry, a combination of six grade 8s and 7s, and a Level 2 Distinction* in engineering.
Ā· Caitlyn who secured a grade 9 in geography, grades 9 and 8 in combined science, grade 8s in English language, maths and art, alongside strong results in English literature, computing and music.
Ā· Kyla who received grade 9s in combined science, as well as grade 7s in English language, geography and history.

Ormiston SWB Academy is committed to providing every student with the support, opportunities and encouragement they need to succeed. As part of Ormiston, the school is dedicated to providing the highest quality education and ensuring that every child, regardless of their background, gains the skills and opportunities they need to thrive.

Dan Mason, Principal at Ormiston SWB Academy, said:

ā€œWe are delighted with what our students have achieved this year. They have embraced every opportunity, supported one another and consistently risen to the challenges they have faced. We are incredibly proud of the confident, ambitious and capable young people they have become. Following our positive Ofsted report earlier this year, these results are another fantastic reflection of the hard work and dedication shown by our whole school community.

Last term Year 10 BTEC Music students had the opportunity to tour the campus at the University of Staffordshire to take part in a number of music recording, mixing and composition workshops. There was some truly impressive technology on display and our students enjoyed the opportunity for hands on sessions creating music. We would like to say a massive thankyou for Alex and Adam who made us welcome and gave up their time to run this enjoyable event. We will definitely be visiting again with next years cohort!
