Fantastic news 🥳🎉🤩

📣 OFSTED REPORT PUBLISHED 📣

We are delighted to share that our Ofsted report has now been published!

The report recognises the many strengths of Hurst Hill Primary School, including our inclusive culture, positive relationships, effective safeguarding and the dedication of our staff to ensuring every child feels safe, valued and supported. Inspectors noted that pupils are happy, proud of their school and enjoy learning.

A huge thank you to our wonderful pupils, staff, governors, trustees and families. This achievement reflects the hard work and commitment of our whole school community.

We are incredibly proud of this outcome and remain committed to continuing our journey of improvement for all children. 💙

03/09/2026

At Hurst Hill, we love celebrating our pupils and helping them make happy memories on their special day. As part of a Hurst Hill tradition, children are welcome to wear their own clothes on their birthday instead of their school uniform. 🥳

Helping every child read with confidence

As children move on from their phonics reading scheme, we use ZPD ranges to help them choose books that are appropriately challenging and enjoyable.

A short STAR Reading assessment helps identify each child’s ZPD (Zone of Proximal Development) – the range of books that should provide just the right level of challenge. This helps children develop fluency, vocabulary, comprehension and, most importantly, confidence as independent readers.

Take a look at our infographic to find out more about how ZPD works and how you can support reading at home. 💙📖🌟
