Schools out sports in In April 2014 We developed the ‘Schools Out, Sports In’ programme. All sports are delivered by specialist coaches. Prices are £12.00 a day per child.

‘Schools Out, Sports In’ is a school holiday sports programmes, SHINE dance and performing arts projects encouraging children to always be active, make new friens and love sport during the school holidays. This allowed our children to attend school (8.30am – 3.00pm) and participate in various sports and activities during the school holidays. We are now looking to offer this to all Primary School children in the Billingham Area (between the ages of 5 and 11 years old)

All activities are delivered by qualified, specialist coaches from sporting clubs in the local area. The sessions are also supported by volunteer coaches partaking in sports related studies from local colleges and universities from the local area. The programme provides a fantastic opportunity for community links between schools and local clubs and ultimately encourages participation in sport and physical activities beyond the school day. We believe that the ‘Schools Out, Sports In’ school holiday sports programme is fantastic value for money and is a great alternative to child care. The programme specifically focuses on providing children with the opportunity to keep active during the schools holidays in a fun and safe environment. They have the opportunity to participate in sports such as: gymnastics, streetdance, zumba, boot camp fitness, football, netball, basketball, tag rugby, boxing, judo, wrestling, rock climbing and trampolining. The Programme is based at SRC Sports Centre, Marsh House Avenue, Billingham during the school holidays for children aged 5-11.

Wow! Introducing Scarlett. She is only 14yrs old, attends Egglescliffe School and volunteered at SOSI in Billingham the last three weeks. She was always the first to arrive, last to leave, worked incredibly hard supporting all the sessions and was a huge hit with all the children and staff this Summer. What a star!

Get well soon! Family favourite, Elliot will not be with us for the rest of the Summer Holidays! He has suffered a fractured fibula and tibia whilst playing for Wolviston FC last week. After surgery he wanted to visit all children at SOSI in Billingham today and we wish him all the best with is recovery and rehabilitation. We miss you Ell. from all the staff and children at SOSI.
