⚽ Y7 & Y8 Football Success! ⚽

A huge congratulations to our Year 7 and Year 8 football teams, who both began the season by securing impressive victories against Thornaby Academy earlier this week.

The Year 7 team produced an excellent performance in their first fixture together, showing great teamwork, determination, and quality throughout. It was a highly encouraging start to the season, with plenty of exciting potential on display for the future.

The Year 8 team built on the strong foundations established last year, delivering another confident performance to begin their season with a well-deserved win. Their hard work and commitment were evident from start to finish.

🙏✨ Faith in Action at St. Michael’s ✨🙏

Our Faith in Action pupils had the wonderful opportunity to meet Bishop Stephen at the Chaplaincy Recommissioning Mass at St. Andrew’s Parish Church in Newcastle. ⛪️

Our pupils played an important role in the celebration, proudly handing out Mass leaflets and taking part in the liturgy by reading during the Bidding Prayers. 📖🙏

It was a wonderful opportunity for our pupils to put their faith into action, serve their community and represent St. Michael’s with pride. 💙

Well done to all our pupils for their fantastic contribution! 🌟

🌊Y7 Catholic Retreat – “On the Rock” 🌊

Our Y7 students had a wonderful time taking part in a special Catholic retreat at the beach, reflecting on the theme “On the Rock.” ✝️

Inspired by the words of Jesus and the idea of building our lives on a strong foundation, students spent time reflecting, praying and creating beautiful artwork using rocks and natural materials found along the beach. 🎨

It was a fantastic opportunity for our students to connect with their faith, enjoy the beauty of creation and build community together. 🌊❤️

A day of faith, creativity, reflection and fun! 🙏

THEME – THE CORNERSTONE
“The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone.” — Matthew 21:28–32

In this Sunday’s Gospel, Jesus reminds us that He is the Cornerstone — the first and most important stone of a building, upon which everything else depends.

Although many rejected Jesus, He reveals that He is the true foundation upon which God’s Kingdom is built. This is at the very heart of our Trust theme, Life on the Rock. ✝️

When we build our lives upon Christ, we discover purpose, strength and hope. We have each been entrusted with gifts, talents and opportunities. Our challenge is to use them wisely, producing the fruits of faith, kindness, generosity and service. 🌱

🧠 HEADS: Why is Jesus called the Cornerstone, and what difference does it make if I build my life upon Him?

❤️ HEARTS: Lord, help me to build my life upon you, the Cornerstone, so that my faith may bear good fruit.

🤲 HANDS: This week, use one of your gifts to help another person, remembering that every act of kindness helps build God’s Kingdom.

💙 Christ is our Rock. Christ is our Cornerstone. What will you build upon Him?
