We’ve had several enquiries regarding GCSE tutoring for this year. However, we are fully booked now. If you’re thinking of tutoring for GCSEs please don’t leave it ‘til this time in year 11. Start in September of year 10 or 11. Otherwise you might find that tutors don’t have spaces. We will have space after this year’s exams!

‘We would like to say a massive thank you to Matthew for helping our daughter through her SATs. When Matthew first came to meet her she was working at below expected level for her age and really seemed to struggle.
Thanks to Matthew's patience and tutoring she has managed to improve her scores.’

Recent testimony from her parents. She managed to get 101 for Reading and 109 for Spag from initial below expected level!

What a lovely testimonial from one of my tutees’ mums this year...

“I would like to highly recommend Matthew as a Tutor in English. My son in Year 11 was failing in English. He didn't enjoy English Language and struggled with English Literature. He only achieved a grade 3 in his English mock exams. Matthew started home tutoring him after this. Matthew came weekly after school and got to know the aspects of learning that my son was struggling with.
He spent time engaging him and bringing English Literature to life in a way that benefited my son.
Matthew provided resources for him and advised ways in which I could support him at home. He also provided email support for homework he had set.
As a tutor Matthew was genuinely invested in supporting my son.
It was a pleasure to see my son enjoy exploring the context and analysing set texts in English Literature.
Also looking at the technical side of English Language that my son failed to grasp within the classroom setting.
Matthew provided effective revision tips and exam practice from past papers. Providing guidance on how to structure answers and understanding what the examiner expected.
My son has now achieved a GCSE Grade 5 in both English Language and English Literature, I attribute this to the home tutoring from Matthew.”

Both my Tutees this year did tremendously in their English GCSEs. One moved from Grade 2 to Grade 5 and another Grade 3 to Grade 6! Thrilled for them! If you have a teenager who wants help get in touch!
