Name: Ella Ward
Age: 10
Grade: Green belt (6th Kyu)
Hi my name is Ella and I am in Year 6 and am almost 11 years old. I started karate when I was 5 years old. I grew up watching my older brother and sister do karate. I am currently on my green belt working towards my blue. I like that karate isn't just the same thing week after week. I like that karate keeps me strong. My favourite part of lessons is doing katas and watching others do more advanced katas. I can't wait until I can do them too.

- flexibility, mobility, cardiovascular fitness and muscular strength can all be worked on and improved upon no matter what your weight, body composition or age. The keys to success are consistency, patience and a positive mind set ๐๐ผ

๐๐ผ๐ฅKATA๐ฅ๐๐ผ
Mastery of kata is essential for all karateka.
It helps fine tune a karatekaโs body mechanics, including muscle memory, needed to execute martial arts techniques properly.
Knowledge of kata is also essential to understand how to generate power from hips and core as opposed to the legs and arms โ an important lesson for a karateka.
In addition, kata also helps in mastering proper breathing techniques required to be a successful karateka and keeping the mind focused on a singular objective.

Introducing: Ernest Waring cadet 1st Dan & 2021 Student of the Year...
โI started Karate just before my 5th birthday in 2013. Since then I have learned many fighting techniques, katas and Japanese fighting terms. It has kept me healthy over the years and taught me discipline and built my self confidence. I was very nervous in the lead up to the grading, but as I progressed my nerves settled and I was able to successfully pass. Iโm very pleased that I have earned my blackbelt after lots of effort and training and now I can start my training towards second Dan.โ
