Walk the plank! 🏴‍☠️

There were some very brave little pirates at Munchkins Dunton Fields as the children took on our very own walk the plank obstacle course!

Carefully balancing their way across the beams, they had to make it all the way to the other side without “falling into the water”, where plenty of sea creatures were waiting below. 🌊

A fun way to bring imaginative play and physical development together, encouraging balance, coordination, confidence and a little problem solving along the way.

Who knew avoiding a shark could be such good motivation for practising those balancing skills! 🦈

A little before and after of our newest Munchkins Nursery & Preschool in Billericay. 💚

It’s amazing to look back at where we started and see how much this building has changed, with every detail carefully considered to create a warm, welcoming nursery for our children and families.

From an empty building to a place now full of love, learning & play. 🥰

🌿 Something exciting is taking shape at Billericay!

Our new outdoor cabins are going up, and they’re going to be such a fantastic addition to our garden.

With heating and air conditioning, they’ll provide comfortable, year round spaces for our Munchkins to explore, play and learn. They’ll also add another element to our free flow approach, giving children even more independence and freedom to choose where their play takes them.

We can’t wait to bring these spaces to life. Stay tuned to see how they turn out! 👀💚

Pizza chefs in the making! 🍕

Our youngest Brightlingsea Munchkins have been busy making their very own pizzas!

Using wraps as their base, the children explored the ingredients as they added tomato passata and sprinkled on the cheese, creating their pizzas ready to be cooked. Then came the best bit… enjoying their homemade creations together for tea!

Cooking activities are such a lovely way to introduce little ones to different foods, tastes and textures, while encouraging independence and building confidence around food from an early age.

E safety starts earlier than you might think. 📱

Technology is already part of the world our children are growing up in, which is why introducing e safety in an age appropriate way can begin right from the Early Years.

We use carefully chosen books to introduce e safety through stories and situations children can understand and relate to. Familiar objects such as phones, cameras and keyboards are also incorporated into play, giving children opportunities to explore technology, talk about what it is used for and begin learning simple messages around using it safely.

Just like road safety or learning about people who help us, e safety is another important part of helping children understand the world around them.

Small conversations now can help build safer digital habits for the future. 🌿

Beach clean up! 🌊

Our Brightlingsea Munchkins headed to the beach with a very important mission: to help keep it clean and safe for people and animals to enjoy.

The children carefully searched for pieces of rubbish, safely picked them up and collected them in a bag before making sure everything went into the bin where it belonged.

Experiences like this help children begin to understand that we all have a part to play in looking after the world around us. From caring for wildlife to taking responsibility for our local environment, even little hands can make a big difference. 🌿
