NEW FOR SEPTEMBER - Analysis Course: Think like an examiner (For Years 9-11)
This brand new course has been designed around the very skills I'm seeing students need whilst marking this summer's GCSE papers.
Part 1: Building Strong Analysis Skills
π
Mondays: 7th September β 19th October
π 5.30pmβ6.30pm
Students will develop the foundations of successful GCSE English analysis by learning how to:
β Identify and analyse language, structure and form confidently.
β Explain the impact of writers' choices in detail.
β Move beyond simple comments to clear, developed analysis.
β Structure clear analytical paragraphs.
β Understand exactly what examiners are looking for in analysis.
Part 2: Developing Sophisticated Responses
π
Mondays: 2nd November β 14th December
π 5.30pmβ6.30pm
Students will then build on these analytical skills by learning how to:
β Compare texts and ideas with confidence.
β Develop more perceptive and sophisticated interpretations.
β Make insightful links between evidence and the writer's intentions.
β Extend and refine their analysis to access higher marks.
β Write detailed, well developed responses that reflect what examiners are looking for.
By the end of the course, students will have a clear understanding of how to think like an examiner when analysing and apply these skills across both the GCSE English Language and Literature papers with confidence.
If you'd like to discuss whether this course would be a good fit for your child, simply message me or email me at: [email protected]. I'd love to help.
