We're in the thick of the mock GCSE season and some of you may have received news about some disappointing Science results. It's not too late to put things right; for the night owls out there, I have the following available slots, at £45/hour:

Wednesday: 8pm
Thursday: 8pm
From 1st December, Sundays: 6.50pm

Sessions are online via Google Meet or at my home in Bidford On Avon.

I'm a qualified teacher with 25 years of Secondary Science teaching experience, PGCE with QTS, and an enhanced DBS on the update system. I was head of science for 12 years and also a school governor.

I tutor all exam boards and, where appropriate, both tiers.

About me: I taught secondary Science for 25 years, and was Head of Science for 12. Before that, I was a district Environmental Health Officer specialising in public health, pollution and noise control in Sandwell.
I hold BSc (Hons) Environmental Health, PGDip Acoustics and Noise Control, PGCE Secondary biology with QTS and an enhanced DBS on the update service. I tutor all 3 sciences to higher tier, all boards.
I also offer Emotional Freedom Technique to help alleviate any exam anxiety.

We're halfway through August and I know that many of you are starting to think about your children going back to school; some of you will also be thinking seriously of getting extra help for GCSE Sciences. I only have six spaces left to start tuition in September, and I'm offering them at the current price of £45 per hour. My prices rise to £50 per hour as of September 1st, so if you have already made your mind up, please get in touch soon to take advantage of the cheaper option.

Why choose me? Well, apart from loving what I do, I have 25 years of Secondary Science teaching experience, hold PGCE Science with QTS and a current enhanced DBS certificate. I'm also affable, understanding and, as you can see from some of my end-of-year thank you cards, I have a great rapport with my tutees. If your child is anxious about school or exams, I offer Emotional Freedom Technique to help them to build confidence. I'm familiar with all exam boards and tiers and offer personalised sessions that aim to motivate, build confidence, facilitate exam practise and develop answering techniques.

Why start now? If you have any inkling that your child might be struggling in Science, the earlier you address it, the better. Science is a HUGE subject and in my experience, deciding to start tuition after the Year 11 mocks makes it difficult to fill knowledge gaps and sort out any misconceptions.

I'm also an independent tutor, so you can be assured that fees aren't being swallowed up by an agency and that I can give your child the flexibility needed for them to flourish.
