It’s been a busy summer and quiet on here. September is looking spicy🔥
Here’s an update for students & anyone thinking of lessons:
• Alternative Voices - North Devon's Alternative Choir : starting in September I’m taking over the choir. All are welcome to join �• MA in Voice Pedagogy: I’m heading back to studying with a focus on extreme vocals, any students that want to be part of the journey are encouraged! �• encoremusicuk End of year show prep: We are hitting the ground running with getting students performance ready. �• Booking Regular lesson slots: my timetable is filling up, so book your weekly or fortnightly slot to avoid missing out!

The Essentials of Singing

Great singing is about the habits you build every day. Singing is a skill that grows with good habits and smart training.

💜Fuel your voice - Stay hydrated, practice body movement and eat well. Your voice works best when your body is properly fuelled.
💜 Body mapping – Check in with yourself. How are you feeling today? Tension, fatigue, stress, and posture all affect your voice.
💜Breath support – Strong, efficient breath management provides the foundation for healthy singing.
💜Sirens and SOVTs – Simple warm-ups like sirens and SOVT exercises help improve coordination and keep the voice healthy.
💜Practice daily – Consistency beats intensity. 30 minutes a day can make a huge difference.
💜Train your ear – Listening skills are just as important as vocal skills. Develop your pitch, timing, and musical awareness.
💜Rest – Your voice is part of your body. Sleep and recovery are just as important as practice.

Encore combines North Atlantic Drum Academy, Bold Note Vocal Coaching, Bideford Guitar Lessons, offering music tuition in a fun supportive environment.
