Sprouts are a really easy superfood!
Simply soak pulses overnight then rinse and drain twice daily until they sprout. Can be kept in fridge once ready to eat until used. It feels wonderful to eat a whole vibrant living plant. 🌿 My favourite are green and black lentils. Add to any dish after cooking or in salads. We like a olive oil& cider vinegar dressing on thdm

Keeping poultry is by far one of our most rewarding hobbies. It's a whole family affair: the eldest cleans them out & keeps water topped up, the youngest collects the eggs, Jez and I feed them. Jez and girls desi dust them and treat their scaly leg mite. It's a fantastic way to recycle food waste.
Over the years we've had up to 32 at one time when Imyla ran her egg selling enterprise, now 8 remain.
The project began when Imyla was about 6 and rescued a couple of pullets, then we rehomed a bunch of ex battery hens, eventually the girls decided to buy fertilised eggs for a broody hen to sit on and they had the joy of watching chicks grow 💛
We have rehomed 3 cockerells as they were all aggressive, even when hand reared, chasing kids into yurt, and extremely noisy. We've seen a fox scoping out the run but it's never got in. We leave a chook in the woods when it dies of old age as a peace offering to Mr fox.

(.and yes - it is movable =). T he chimney is insulated. Perfect for. The house has been professionally wired with 3 mains power points. The electrical box is located under the trailer containing the switchboard and power hook up.

Inspired by a wonderfully informative, relaxing and creative workshop 'Herb Club' at Wild Side Wonders with the knowledgeable Anoushka Brierley.
I have been hanging herbs harvested from our garden to dry...Nettle, lemonbalm, lovage, feverfew, sage, oregano and made my first ever lemonbalm tincture and working on my handmade leather foraging pouch 😊

I will miss this garden we've been nurturing for past 12 years and am acutely aware that this may well be our last summer here. It is lovely to be storing the abundance 💚

This is one of my favourite trees. I've driven past her several times most days for past 12 years and always admired her but only just climbed the fence to visit and discovered she has the most perfect office chair beneath her 🧡

To be fair, Jez usually makes it for us both every morning and delivers it to me in bed with a cup of tea 💛

Most of the pipes are encased in a plastic tube, but not the bits where pipe bends.

Poor Jez hadn't even had a cuppa after coming home from work and he had to sort out an emergency situation. Legend!
